25.01.2022 We’re settling into the last few weeks of winter. Open fires, cool nights, fresh mornings... what’s your favourite thing about winter in the country?

25.01.2022 This once scruffy little area was a disused vege patch and tank stand with rusty old solar panels, and shards of metal and glass that completed the picture. Despite the shabbiness, when we first purchased and began renovating the property, we would drag our chairs up to the area as it as such a beautiful spot to enjoy the afternoon sun and relax overlooking the property. When it came time to build an outdoor space, there was no question as to where it should go. With a tight budget, we planted tube stock, nurtured and pruned them, and after 3 years, this is the result. Swipe for the original setting and a picture of when we planted this garden in 2018.

23.01.2022 Here’s a little stroll through one of our renovations. When we purchased the property five years ago, Bellevue Cottage had a rather outdated pine kitchen, but it was perfectly serviceable so we painted the cupboards, changed the door knobs and added new open shelving. It made a remarkable difference, as you can see from the Before and Interim photos.More recently, we stripped out the old kitchen and replaced it with this beauty. The footprint is the same, but the new appliances, stone benchtop, beautiful tapware and custom-made cabinetry make it a lovely place to cook up a storm.Have you ever done an ‘interim’ renovation?

22.01.2022 Eeeeww she’s a chilly one... but there’s plenty of wood to keep the place toasty

22.01.2022 Just as the leaves on the grape vine begin to turn crimson and the nights become cooler, our fabulous brickies @ocker_bricklaying have completed our new outdoor fireplace. The inspiration for the design came one day while driving around the countryside seeing lone chimney stacks, no longer attached to a home. What do you think?

22.01.2022 Is a Micro-Wedding Your Perfect Match?Perhaps a quick elopement, a relaxed day spent with your favourite people, or a whole weekend of celebrations is for you. Micro-Weddings are smaller than conventional weddings, generally with 20-30 guests, but that doesn’t mean you need to miss out on any of your favourite traditions. It can be a lot easier to plan as well, and you can have a private and intimate venue with just you and your guests present. You get to splash out on some things, but reduce costs on others if there are less people, and most importantly, you get to spend more time with everybody who’s come to join in the celebrations.

22.01.2022 Here’s another bathroom renovation for your enjoyment (swipe for before). So much colour was used when the house was built. I’m not sure whether it was standard for the time (c1980) or whether this was a bit on the exuberant side. Do you recall?

22.01.2022 This weekend’s guests were planning a trip to Italy for a 70th birthday celebration.Covid-19 put a halt to the travel, but it won’t stop the celebrations.A delicious alfresco luncheon to honour the birthday girl and caterers present for the whole weekend means everyone is enjoying a slow and lazy time spent gathering, reconnecting and sharing.

21.01.2022 Hellloooo weekend! Hope it’s a goodie for you!

20.01.2022 Here’s some cuteness to kick off the week @rachaeltagg

20.01.2022 Are you hankering for a gathering with your favourite peeps? If it’s too sunny, too rainy, too windy, too bright, too dark, we’ve got you covered (literally ) with the addition of our new deck.Who would you catch up with, rain, hail or shine?

19.01.2022 The Stables had the most simple of makeovers, but it’s perhaps one of the most dramatic. A fresh coat of paint, barn door trims and new lights, as well as a jolly good scrub make for a wonderfully eclectic dining space. Giddy up!

19.01.2022 Happy Friday, Friends! While it’s cold, wet and windy out there (literally and figuratively), let’s dream of sunny days, gathering with friends and family, and lots and lots of laughter.

17.01.2022 As part of our recent renovations, we decided to give the garden a little freshen up, but that turned into some quite major landscaping which we quickly realised was easy to demolish with a tractor and @toroaus Utility Loader (thank you @jasonhodgesandco ) but a little more time consuming to resurrect. I’m happy to say that 1,000ish edging and hedging plants are in the ground, relishing in chook and cow poo. The rose and peony gardens are also established. Now, on to the Dahlias....

17.01.2022 Two years ago, we spent a lovely family holiday in the UK.It was a very hot and dry summer, and one of our last stops was the village of Upper Slaughter in the Cotswolds. It was here that I was introduced to Echinops (aka Globe Thistles).Working on the basis that if they survived a drought in England, they could hopefully survive our climate, I searched high and low for these beauties.I finally found seeds, and although they sprouted, they didn’t thrive in the ground.Recently I joined @thediggersclub and to my delight, they were in stock and we planted 45 of these beauties today. This photo is of the plant in England, but hopefully ours will look like this one day. In the meantime, I’ve shared a little snipet of our garden on stories.

15.01.2022 One of the most extraordinary things happened recently and if @red_berry_photography hadn’t also witnessed the event, I don’t think anybody would believe me... Some days the cattle get the dingbats where they bolt around, chase one another, fall to the ground, get up again and run around some more. Sometimes it’s initiated by something foreign (such as the ute) in the paddock, but on other days, I’m not really sure what sets them off. Last week it happened again. They w...ere belting around, head-butting and chasing one another, then one galloped towards a fallen tree and jumped over it like a pony! That was bizarre enough, but what was even more bizarre was that the other one followed, also galloping up to the trunk and jumping over with mighty fine form. I had absolutely no idea that cows could jump so high (the trunk is almost a metre in diameter!) or so gracefully. Have you ever witnessed such a thing? See more

15.01.2022 Here we are...Greg, Anna and Skye (the fur-baby).Greg’s written a new blog post.Hop over to the website to read it, and you can also see some of the new photos from the renovation.I’d love to hear what you think!

15.01.2022 Our boys are about to head off on school camp, so we’re spending the weekend fattening them up. There’ll be roast dinners with loads of greens and starches, then some pudding to finish it off. They’re loading their backpacks with biltong and trail mix, but I’m not sure the food provided will be entirely vitamin-rich. Do you have fond memories of school camp?

14.01.2022 Flotsam and Jetsam are old maritime terms, the former being debris in the water that was not deliberately thrown overboard, often as a result from a shipwreck or accident. The latter describes debris that was deliberately thrown overboard by a crew of a ship in distress, most often to lighten the ship's load. Under maritime law the distinction is important as Flotsam (to float) may be claimed by the original owner, whereas Jetsam (to jettison) may be claimed as property of whoever discovers it. How do you think this applies to the land? Belongings left on the sidewalk on council clean-up day: obviously Jetsam; discarding a bag while running from an angry bull: obviously Flotsam; discarded feathers, horse shoes and shells: also Jetsam?

14.01.2022 I don’t mean to startle you, but did you know it’s less than 6 weeks until Christmas? The good news is that the homestead has become available, so if you feel like escaping the chaos with your nearest and dearest, let me know. It’s a five day minimum stay and the house can sleep up to 20. Anna x

12.01.2022 Micro-weddings can be a great opportunity to shake off as many of the traditional aspects of a ceremony and reception as you wish, or not.You can still have the cake cutting, bouquet toss and first dance, or you might opt for a casual outdoor ceremony followed by a beautiful banquet.Looking back on your wedding, would you change anything about your day?If you’re looking forward to it, what are the most important things for you?

12.01.2022 Last week was a biggie, with a photo shoot to capture all the changes we’ve made from our recent renovations. What would you like to see?How the property can be decorated and styled? Before and after photos? The animals? The gardens?Or something else entirely?

12.01.2022 I’m a weeny bit excited to share this with you ... What do you think of The Cellar? You can have a banquet under the chandeliers, or clear the tables and do yoga, or move in the sofas for a chilled hangout, whip up a daiquiri behind the bar, or plug in the karaoke! What would you use it for?

12.01.2022 This weekend’s guests are a group of ladies celebrating the end of their sporting season. Plenty of activities are planned, including a dinner where they will dress up as Desperate Housewives. Can’t wait to see the photos

12.01.2022 With the restrictions around travelling and gathering at present, it can limit farewelling loved ones in traditional ways. Have you considered gathering the extended family and friends together, and going somewhere special for a few days to celebrate, mourn, laugh, cry or reflect on the life of those that have passed?

11.01.2022 Hey Ladies!Do you feel like a relaxed weekend of delicious Paddock to Plate dining, yoga, meditation, creating your own essential oils blend, high tea, an art class, as well as an optional facial, massage and IV Wellness Infusion?@lavidaladiesretreats are hosting their Spring Retreat at Bundara Farm on the last weekend of September and there are a few spots available.Grab a couple of girlfriends and head over to https://www.facebook.com/LaVidaLadiesRetreats for all the details.

10.01.2022 Looking through some old photos, the transformation is remarkable in Waverley Cottage. It has a new kitchen and bathrooms, but as it had such good bones, apart from aesthetics like paint, floorboards, lighting and furniture, not a great deal has changed. Do you have plans for a renovation project in 2021?

09.01.2022 We’re settling in to a very low-key, relaxed weekend, spending lots of quality time with the kids. Hope you enjoy your weekend.

08.01.2022 It seems most of us took on a new project during the Covid-19 shutdown period. There’s been a resurgence in gardening, renovating and pet purchases. We built a vege garden , oh and renovated 10 bathrooms. What was your lockdown project?

07.01.2022 Here’s the progression of the kitchen renovation. The original cabinetry was oak, but somewhere along the line, a would-be artist made it their own . We had to do something about it very early on as it was so loud, it was going to keep everyone awake at night , so we painted the cupboards and tiles, and stripped the painted benchtop (yes, it really was painted black) to reveal the lovely timber.Recently, this hub of the house was transformed into an elegant and refined space, aptly equipped for any occasion.

07.01.2022 It’s really really hot today (39.4 degrees ) and really really windy . Too hot for the garden , too windy for the beach . The only place to be is the cellar... the perfect temperature all year round there’s space for any activity you choose. Except show jumping . That photo’s of me and my pony Milly many many years ago. Anna x

07.01.2022 At the time, the back of the house was one of the tidiest places on the property, complete with gas bottles, air conditioner and bins. She’s a wee bit prettier now with an undercover deck and providing a lovely flow from the house to the gardens.

06.01.2022 Any day now, I’ll be able to share the photos of our recent renovation. The very talented @abbie_melle has been back to the property to capture our latest freshen up . In the meantime, here’s a shot of the dining room, which you can recreate using the beautiful candelabras, vases and tableware that come with the property.

06.01.2022 It’s only been a couple of months since we completed the renovation, but already The Cellar has been used for yoga, meditation, sound healing, birthday celebrations and it’s a popular hangout space for the teens.

06.01.2022 With spring around the corner we’re getting ready to spend the evenings outside on the verandah, watching the sun go down over the hills. The biggest decision at this time of the day is generally what to eat and drink while doing so. Any suggestions?

05.01.2022 Our beautiful new gardens are starting to spring to life.We now have a Rose Garden, Peony Garden, Hydrangea Garden and lots of lovely new spaces to wander and relax. And new gates too! This Gatekeeper works part-time, so you may not see her on your visit, but our cottages are pooch-friendly, so you could bring your own.

04.01.2022 Are you ready to get off Zoom and meet with your team somewhere out of the ordinary, where you can reconnect, have fun and get on with some serious face-to-face work?

04.01.2022 How crazy is spring in the garden, especially with new plants. Some seem to be doubling in size every few days. The hydrangeas are blooming and looking beautiful (thanks for the tips on food and water @jasonhodgesandco).The roses are blooming too.Pop over to stories for a little wander. We planted a heap of Snapdragons and also some Lisianthus on the weekend, so hopefully before too long everything will be bursting with colour.

04.01.2022 Here’s some cuteness to kick off the weekend.

04.01.2022 We are looking for a housekeeper/cleaner to join the team. This is a long-term position for the right person, of around 20 hours per week. We are looking for somebody with excellent attention to detail, exceptionally high standards, very reliable and prior experience in housekeeping/hospitality is a plus. Applicants must have a driver’s licence and their own transport, and be able to work on any day of the week, which occasionally includes weekends. It’s a physically demanding job, so good health and strength is important. Please apply if you think you may be suitable for this role.

03.01.2022 It’s never felt more important to spend time with our extended family and with Father’s Day around the corner, it’s a good excuse to get three generations together. We’ll be having a long lazy day dining, chatting and relaxing. What are your plans for Dad’s big day?

03.01.2022 Bellevue Cottage is set in an elevated position which overlooks a little valley. The area has a few eucalypts and it catches a lot of the ground water from the property that flows towards the dam. Currently the cows have a great time running down one side and up the other when food is on offer, but we’re thinking about turning it into a native garden, with paths where you can wander amongst the vegetation.Do you have any suggestions for natives that would enjoy being in this area beneath the dappled light of the gums?

03.01.2022 How happy are these two!An intimate gathering with family and friends was planned at Bundara Farm, but the Covid-19 lockdown put a hold on that. The bride and groom couldn’t wait though, so they decided to elope instead. It was the most beautiful, intimate, private event, officiated by an old family friend of the groom and witnessed by Greg and I. @folkandfollow

02.01.2022 What a cracking weekend it’s been!Delicious food and wine shared with good friends, marshmallows on the fire, a beautiful lunch at @crookedriverwines, a trip to @berrydonutvan and @berryicecreamery_sweetsntreats for the kids, a spot of shopping at @amara_home , @beadbarofberry and @candleberriesberry for the ladies, glorious winter sunshine and balmy days.A perfect weekend.I hope yours was just as delightful.

02.01.2022 After such a tumultuous year for so many of us, the rolling green countryside, sunny skies and stunning beaches beckon. What does your perfect summer holiday feel like?

01.01.2022 Well that was a lovely Christmas. Family, food, fizz, flowers and fun. A few carols were belted out (especially after the fizz ), plenty of food was served and of course the traditional game of cricket was played. How was your Chrissy Day? @taradcruznoble

01.01.2022 This weekend was a cracker! We spent the weekend with two other families, very old and very good friends. There was gathering, cooking and dining. The teenagers congregated in The Cellar and by the fire pit, the adults by the open fire, all with so much to catch up on after months of separation.Aged beef was on the menu, with potatoes roasted in duck fat, and a rocket and gorgonzola salad, paired with beautiful local wines from @mountainridgewines, and all prepared in our brand new kitchen.Such a beautiful weekend spent reconnecting with friends. How was yours?
