25.01.2022 It’s that time of the year when our slithery little mates head out of hibernation fir some sun baking. Some ‘lucky’ peeps on our Cabbage Tree Basin tour spotted what was thought to be a juvenile brown snake skimming over the water at the upper reach of the creek. Caused a lot of excitement Wasn’t quick enough to get any photos! ... Here’s a great read from the crew NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service about snakes https://www.environment.nsw.gov.au//native-animal-f/snakes
25.01.2022 Had an absolute ball mucking around in the bay waves with this fun group! Always love to see smiling faces and know that people are having fun on our adventures Simpsons Bay at Bundeena is a perfect beachside location with mostly clear, shallow waters, small wave breaks and a lovely stretch of sandspit #kayaksydney #bundeena #kayaktour #royalnationalpark #lovetheshire #bundeena #sutherlandshire #ilovesydney #destinationnsw #bundeenakayaks

22.01.2022 A women called Lauren Shiraz is trying to falsely discredit our business. She’s gone crazy posting on every post we have ever done and is having a blitz of writing reviews with slanderous and untrue information. She was booked for a tour today at 12.30 but wasn’t able to locate us. She was provided with detailed location information at time of booking plus location details are also available via our website and on google maps. She tried calling but we were busy ...with other customers and weren’t able to get to the phone. The other 6 people who were booked on the tour showed up on time and the tour went ahead as planned. Her double kayak was waiting on the beach ready for her, but she didn’t show up. This isn’t unusual. Often people don’t show up for bookings. I returned to find a series of nasty, threatening and accusatory text messages saying that we are scammers who have stolen her money. She said she waited at our location for 2 hours but we didn’t show up and that we’re a scam business. She didn’t even allow us discuss options to rebook or refund. She just kept firing off nasty text messages. We understand people can have misadventures getting here and always do our best to help. To suggest we have stolen her money is totally untrue. To suggest we’re a scam is untrue and slanderous. Here’s just on of the many nasty reviews she’s already done. As small business owners we are feeling totally gutted that someone can be so mean.
22.01.2022 Lovely HUGE morning high tides this week! Perfect for planning a paddling adventure to the gorgeous Cabbage Tree Basin. Best to plan to leave here just before the high tide and the run in tide will help you along the way. Return trip from here to the end of Cabbage Tree Creek Takes about 1.5 hours. 22.01.2022 Weather man is losing his touch!! Yesterday morning the prediction was for light northerly winds (around 8 knots) and it ended up being a strong (24 knot) northerly wind. Today the forecast was for moderate southerly winds growing in intensity throughout the morning. Yet what we have is a 5 knot (basically dead calm) north easterly wind and an absolutely perfect paddling morning. #bringbacktimbailey #willyweather #bomradar #seabreeze #sydneyweather #weatherbundeena

20.01.2022 Wonderfully deafening tune of cicadas up Cabbage Tree Creek! It’s totally worth a visit to hear these amazing little creatures. I’ve heard that there’s a cicada boom every 7 or so years and this is certainly that time! A few interesting facts: Only male cicadas sing and each species has its only song Cicadas spend most of their life cycle underground They are the loudest insects in the world!... Happy New Year everyone!

18.01.2022 GOOD NEWS UPDATE! Everyone we have some lovely news to report. Lauren and I have resolved the situation. She has deleted all the defamatory posts about our business. We’ve discussed our feelings and how the experience hurt both of us. Lauren admits she was really upset and emotional and not acting rationally.we’ve all been there!! I understand that her posts were a way to be heard. ... A few things to take away we as a business don’t mind getting a bad review (well it hurts but we can’t be perfect all the time), so long as it’s fair. But as any small business owner will attest to unfair reviews can be like a stab in the heart. When you put your heart and soul into your business and someone takes a jab, it becomes upsetting and personal. I really like that Lauren used a real profile to write her defamatory comments. Some people hide behind fake names when they set out to take a business down. Anyway - we worked through things. We’ve treated each other like people, with feelings and I believe we’ve both come out better people at the other end. Thanks to all our wonderfully supportive customers and friends for letting everyone know that we are a good, honest business. You guys are the best! Some things I’m about to do: 1) Updated my phone contact details of the customer from Nastiest Person on Earth to Lovely Lauren 2) Put a circle around Lauren’s asterix **** See my post from a couple of weeks back Thanks Lovely Lauren We sure got off to a rocky start.but I hope you can come along on a kayak tour with us soon. PS We’ve refunded Lauren

13.01.2022 Been having a lovely few days enjoying our gorgeous Port Hacking waterway and surrounding Royal National Park. Plenty of both people and animals out and about! Yesterday our 8am kayak tour group were visited by about 4 dolphins . An inquisitive turtle was also spotted by some other people who’d hired kayaks. Normally turtles are shy and don’t stay around for too long. But apparently this one was playful and did some acrobatics close to the kayak.... Then right up Cabbage Tree Creek a juvenile brown snake crossed over the water just in front of another tour group. This visit gave us all a bit on an adrenaline rush! Congratulations apparently in order for the happy couple of sea eagles that have been regularly spotted up Cabbage Tree Basin. We’ve heard they’ve had a chick! We’ll be open today from 7am until 4pm for kayak and paddle board hire, lessons and guided tours. Hope you can come paddle with us and enjoy this little slice of paradise! 10.01.2022 If weather predictions are correct, a very strong southerly wind is due to bust on through around 11am this morning. Means that for safety reasons we’ll be closed today (Saturday). When it’s windy, the water becomes very choppy and unpleasant. Wind coming from the south is generally the one to be on guard for, because it hits with a bang! See the graph above? It’s taken from the Seabreeze weather app. That sudden jump from green arrows to red is what we always watch... out for. Means wind strength will change from light to very strong, very quickly and it’s this sort of change that often catches people off guard. The safety and enjoyment of our customers is and always has been our top priority. We want everyone to have a fun and safe day out and a positive experience out on our lovely waterway. So batten down the hatches everyone and we’ll see what happens! . . #porthacking #seabreeze #sydneyweather #kayakingsydney #bundeenakayaks #windy See more

09.01.2022 Sooooo... we managed to collect a whole 2 grams of rubbish from the waterway on our tour earlier in the week. This isn’t because we’re lazy buggers, it’s because the Port Hacking River is certainly Sydney’s most pristine waterway. We always collect any rubbish we find while out paddling and encourage our guests to to the same, but in honesty... we never get a bounty #porthacking #bundeenakayaks #kayaktoursydney #threeforthesea #rubbish #dotherightthing

07.01.2022 Heading under the Cabbage Tree bridge on our way up to the Basin. This is our absolute favourite paddling trip on the river. 01.01.2022 Stuck for a New Years resolution?? Well we’ve got a good one for you This year ... try your best to be a customer that is an asterisk with a circle around it... rather than just an asterisk.... The story goes... each day we write up booking sheets for our daily bookings. If a customer who has a booking has already been difficult.... difficult as in rude, demanding etc. ... then they get a next to their name. Gives our beach crew pre-warning. But a little problem popped up... I was actually putting an asterisk next to the customers who’d already been super nice. Caused a little confusion as crew were preparing to potentially get yelled at (yes it happens) and then the people turned out to be lovely. Anyway... we’ve de-briefed, discussed and implemented the all new (asterisk with a circle around it) to denote the nice customer. So this year when you visit a business try and be a rather than a and Lots a great businesses and lovely, hardworking business owners here in Bundeena and Maianbar.
