20.01.2022 One of our members, Sandy writes "I’m very surprised to see fruit on my Feijoa trees this year. I thought the drought would have slowed them down. I can’t remember if I’m supposed to pick them or collect them after they’ve dropped ? Can someone please advise me , I’m determined not to waste then this year." Any ideas?

19.01.2022 The mulch for tomorrow's working bee has just been delivered to Nancy Kingsbury Park. Hoping for a good turnout tomorrow from 8am.

18.01.2022 Yesterday members of the garden club planted 50 Casuarinas in the grounds of The Bundanoon Club. The seedlings will hopefully grow to maturity and provide food for the glossy black cockatoos. The trees are part of a planting to commemorate 50 years of the garden club and will be officially dedicated by garden club life members at a brief ceremony next Thursday at The Bundanoon Club.

18.01.2022 Today we visited 3 gardens in Exeter. This was the first time since Covid began we have been able to visit gardens. Thanks to David for organising, the owners for allowing us to visit and the garden club members who sat on the gates and acted as Covid Marshals.

17.01.2022 Today is the 50th anniversary of the first meeting of the garden club. The meeting was organised by the owner of The Bundanoon Hotel, Mrs Beryl Gosbells. It was held in the cottage which adjoins the hotel. Garden club members inaugurated a new seat in Nancy Kingsbury Park using funds donated by Wingecaribee Council and The BCA. The party then moved to the hotel grounds where the President Robin Coombes planted a commemorative Wollemi Pine before members adjourned to the hotel for lunch.

16.01.2022 Yesterday a good turnout of garden club members joined our first working bee at The Garden of Memories (next to the Uniting Church) in Bundanoon. Thanks to all who joined in, it was an enjoyable morning.

15.01.2022 Yesterday we looked in on the 50th anniversary plantings at the back of the Bundanoon Club. The Wollemi Pine appears to be suffering from too much water, so we repositioned it and improved it's drainage. The Casuarinas are doing very well and we just gave them a weed.

13.01.2022 You have to get up early to beat a garden club member to a plant bargain. Garden club member Laurel shows how it's done at the Rosnel plant sale this morning.

12.01.2022 One of our members, Trish built this circular gabion-wall planter for her front garden. A fair bit of physical work, but very easy otherwise she says. Trish had a large area of gravel she wanted to ‘break up’ and she commented she is on rock hard clay- if anyone wants to know how she did this she is happy to send the process to them.

10.01.2022 Yesterday we picked up the new metal seat for Nancy Kingsbury Memorial Park. The seat will soon replace the existing wooden seat near the railway line. The seat is part of the Bundanoon Garden Club's 50th anniversary commemoration as was made possible with a grant from Wingecaribee Shire Council.
