25.01.2022 Every time Evan Bailey Photography shoots a wedding here, he has a knack of spotting a different photo location we would have never thought of - a winding, dry creek bed was site of this cracking photograph from the weekend's wedding celebrations.

25.01.2022 A gorgeous day here for a wedding celebration! We are closed this afternoon as a result but will be open as normal tomorrow from 10am for visitors exploring the Clare Valley who wish to do our self guided tour or pop into our farm shop.

A cold snap meant these freshly shorn sheep had to spend their nights indoors over the weekend to acclimatise after having their woolly jumpers removed. 17.01.2022 You know you’re up for a good night when dancing shoes are provided! Hope these pics from last weekend’s celebrations provide some inspiration for other bridal couples. It was a fabulous event, with setup by Mid North Party Hire, catering by Sprout Cooking School & Health Studio, music by Sofie Bozzetti Entertainment and great crowd provided by the bride and groom! Keep an eye out for the professional photos by Tomek Photography, as they will be stunners.

16.01.2022 Playing Bungaree-style Tetris, re-laying slate on the Homestead verandah, with a few new pieces borrowed from other spots on the farm! We are very proud of our hardworking maintenance team who do the job right so it will last another 180 years!

15.01.2022 Anlaby's Open Garden Day is always a fabulous way to celebrate Spring! We love visiting given Bungaree's special connection to Anlaby. The Hawker brothers purchased almost 2,500 sheep from the Dutton brothers that had been walked overland from NSW to Anlaby. These sheep were purchased at at 2/10/- per head in mid 1841, and were kept at the Hawker's temporary head station nearby before they travelled North and established Bungaree later that year. Today its fabulous to see the passion that Anlaby's owners, Andrew and Peter, have for both the sheep flock and the restoration of the buildings and beautiful gardens at Anlaby Station.

These two pics show how different our two main species of ‘roos are in the Clare Valley, South Australia... and confirm that their common names don’t always make sense: the Euro (who is grey) and the Western Grey (who is actually brown)..

09.01.2022 These cars from Model T Ford Club seemed to fit right in amongst the heritage buildings while they were doing a tour of Bungaree this weekend. It’s great to see car club rallies and other groups back exploring the Clare Valley, combining some of the picturesque drives with visits to heritage sites, wineries, art galleries, pubs and restaurants.

08.01.2022 International Women's Day is the perfect excuse to recognise some of the women who played significant roles in Bungaree's history over the past 179 years. These inspirational ladies include Bessie Hawker, the original martiarch of Bungaree and mother of 16 children; Lady Frankie Hawker, who helped preserve and collate Bungaree's historical records; and Sal Hawker, who saved the heritage buildings through the development of the hospitality business and continues to play a key role in enabling its success. Thankyou to these amazing women and others like them who continue to inspire us. #IWD2021

07.01.2022 Australia Marketplace in North America has been a little different this year - but having it virtually meant some furry members of our marketing team got to meet travel advisors from across the globe. Thanks Tourism Australia and South Australian Tourism Commission for coordinating the event and helping inspire future visitors to include the Clare Valley in their itinerary.
