22.01.2022 Give your child a great chance to learn about the importance of the Great Barrier reef biologically and economically. Let them open their eyes to the reality of what we consider the great! Give them a chance to have a new perspective, make them think about current problems we face like global warming and its impact on the reef. Let's build up awareness within them by exposing them to real life scenario and teach them how they can use mathematics to come up with a solution.

I have imagined myself being in a different place, having a desirable life and achieving great goals. I became curious to know whether doing mathematics over a long time has strengthened this ability.... In fact, I found that there are lot of scientific studies showing the great link between imagination and mathematics. Mathematics has an imaginary space for creating abstract ideas, theories and problems. We add, delete, modify and rethink, till something sensible flourishes. 04.01.2022 Mathematics to increase brain connectivity. If you have a child and want to know how mathematics shape his/her brain connectivity- crucial for improving cognitive abilities- you should read this! The human brain is unique among other species in its ability to accurately and rapidly learn new concepts and switch between states, while maintaining complex rule sets. We engage in countless goal-directed tasks throughout a given day, adopting task sets that flexibly configure in...formation processing in response to changing task demands. Two regions of our brains (frontal and parietal) are associated with some of the most complex cognitive functions. The frontal region or lobe controls important cognitive skills in humans, such as emotional expression, problem solving, memory, language, judgment, and sexual behaviors. It is the control panel of our personality and our ability to communicate. The parietal lobe (located behind the frontal and above temporal) plays important roles in integrating sensory information from various parts of the body, knowledge of numbers and their relations, and in the manipulation of objects. Its function also includes processing information relating to the sense of touch. The frontoparietal network which is about the connectivity of the neurons of these two regions is critical for our ability to coordinate behavior in a rapid, accurate, and flexible goal-driven manner. The stronger this network (higher connectivity) is, the better cognitive abilities we will have. Functional MRI methods have suggested that early frontoparietal connectivity can predict mathematics achievement. The behavioral measures showed that children with low mathematical achievement performed significantly slower and less accurately than their peers in the high mathematical achievement group. This is a clear signal to invest more into learning mathematics and encourage children to become better at it as it increases the connectivity of these two regions.
