17.01.2022 I did not think we were teaching our youth how to be thieves. These were taken from out the front of our shop and when it was realised the DVD discs weren't inside, the covers were dumped in the church paddock. My sister donates DVDs to our shop for sale but they are all brand new so it is a bit insulting making this discovery. However, it does prove that as much as we would like to trust customers and locals, leaving anything out in accessible to the public is a risk and security cameras are wise. I am also glad I have the DVD discs stored inside!
12.01.2022 We will be open much more over winter and commissions are always welcome but there will hopefully lots more handknits as well as art and craft but for complex or unique gifts for Xmas, order now to give us timw to make sure they are right. Our prices are negotiated on what can be afforded, not profit and enjoy the opportunity to make someone happy and get the right product.
09.01.2022 As long as there are no urgent wildlife calls, we will be open tomorow, Friday, Saturday and Monday for as much of the day as possible. We apologise for not always being open on the advertised times but as winter approaches, we will be taking advsntage of the cooler weathet to have the doors open (without letting the heat out!).
09.01.2022 As if to prove the point about thieves, our beloved garden mascot concrete black panther cat had finally been stolen. It has two broken front feet and is the heaviest garden ornament I have ever had the pleasure of moving which is why it was placed in the front garden. It is sad but no surprise some individuals just can't leave what isn't theirs alone. If it does reappear, no harm done but if you see a black panther with a brown collar in a friends yard, perhaps question where it came from as it is not something that can be bought off a shelf.
08.01.2022 Due to isolation, spinning of fibres has started and either spun alpaca by the ball, beanies, scarves, socks and gloves will be available soon. Orders are welcome and we just need to know what product (beanie, socks, gloves or handspun balls), what fibre(alpaca or wool), what colour (white, fawn, brown, black) and who it is for. Beanies, socks, gloves and scarves range between $30-50 and balls range from $10-$20 per gram depending on the fibre. A good tea cosy will also be available when the right design has been created. We have a few roof and wall repairs as well to attend to when we are not open so hopefully there will be less dust on the shelves in the future! Looking forward to reopening but hope everyone stays safe and well in these uncertain times.
