23.01.2022 This is Ice. Ice was treated for snakebite last week at Bungendore Vets. Due to the severity of his clinical signs he had to be transferred to ARH Canberra to be placed on a ventilator. We are happy to report that after 6 days in hospital at ARH Ice was discharged today. He came in to thank Helena for saving his life. Helena and nurse Kara had to drive Ice to ARH while breathing for him because the ambulance was unavailable. The second picture is nurse Gwen manually ventilating Ice while he was in hospital with us prior to his transfer.

22.01.2022 Bella and Eddie recently got to enjoy some time on the beach with Dr Jack. We love these pics because they just look so darn happy! We would love to see some pictures of your furry friends doing their favourite things with big smiles on their faces. We all need a cheer up with the cold weather this week.

19.01.2022 It's that time of the year again... We are selling Wildcare calendars to support our local wildlife carers. $10 a calendar is a bargain for all the beautiful pictures you get! Please note we are only taking cash payments. Pick one up from our reception before they sell out!

16.01.2022 UPDATE ON OUR DUCKLINGS IN CARE - The ducklings are now spending some time in their outdoor habitat and growing well. They will spend another week or two with our vet nurse Gwen before Susie (another of our wonderful nurses) takes them on the next stage of their release journey. It's wonderful to see them doing so well!

10.01.2022 This echidna was rescued on Norton road after she was attacked by dogs. Her back end was covered in blood and mud. She was anesthetised to facilitate xrays and a bath. The xrays showed an old healed fractured of the right hindlimb but otherwise she was in good health. She has been in care with a local carer for a few weeks now and she is going well. We recently received the very happy news that she has an egg in her pouch- YAY! Watch the video to see the steps of her treatment and the egg in her pouch.

10.01.2022 Grass seed season is well and truly upon us! This pup was in recently for a sore eye. She was sedated and had local anaesthetic put in her eye to allow for a full exam. A grass seed was found embedded behind her third eyelid. In the third photo you can see a green dye highlighting the secondary damage caused by the seed. Thankfully she will make a full recovery with the help of a few medications.

10.01.2022 WHO DOESN'T LOVE GELATO??? This week we organised a visit from an amazing local business as a surprise for our hardworking staff members. Mel from Mellabella Gelato brought her cart to Bungendore Vet on Wednesday and we all had a ball trying some yummy flavours. We can not recommend her and her gelato enough! P.S. She also does home delivery in Bungendore.

09.01.2022 For anyone following the rehabilitation and release of our wild ducks, here is a video of their soft release at our nurse's dam. They are now flying and swimming and have made some new wild duck friends. We are very excited to see them doing so well.

07.01.2022 Jack was on a walk recently and he stuck his nose under a fence to say hi to another dog. Unfortunately the other dog was not happy to see him and he almost had his nose taken off. Thankfully Dr Clem was able to put him back together. In the photos you can see how he looked post-surgery and a few weeks later when he was all healed. A good reminder not to be nosey!

07.01.2022 It was all hands on deck this week when Bungendore Vet Surgery had this mum-to-be undergo an emergency caesarean. This beautiful mum came in as she was showing signs that her labour was not going according to plan. An ultrasound was performed and the pups were found to have lower then expected heart rates. The decision was made to go ahead with an emergency caesarean. Thanks to the amazing work of our nurses, all 8 pups survived. What amazing team work!

07.01.2022 Dr Clem doing amazing things again!

06.01.2022 This is Stuart. Stuart was raised as a poddy lamb by Dr Clem. He thinks he is a dog. He is now living at the clinic and loves pats and attention. Please feel free to come and visit him. He will love you forever.

04.01.2022 Wayne the sheep was in this week for a mass on his ear. He has recently come into care as a rescue case with one of our local sanctuaries. Dr Stacy did surgery to remove the mass with adequate margins as the presumed diagnosis was a tumour. Wayne did very well during his anaesthetic and is expected to make a full recovery.
