23.01.2022 Last week Directors Ian Corcoran and Steve Falconer visited the new Bendigo Bank Tissue Bank and saw first hand the integral work being undertaken here in Ballarat. The relocated Tissue Bank can now accommodate more than 23,000 tissue samples and was officially opened at the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Centre on Friday (masks and all). 19.01.2022 2020 Impact Stories: Singing With One Voice UFS Dispensaries Ltd brought the renowned Creativity Australia With One Voice Choir to Ballarat in 2018 as a well-being initiative. The primary purpose of the choir is social interaction, belonging and fun, as opposed to musical output. For the 30 regular members, the group became a safe and friendly space, blossoming friendships and a sense of purpose with everyone united in song. 16.01.2022 2020 Impact Stories: Remembering at Cambrian Hill A community celebration took place at the Cambrian Hill Avenue of Honour recently to acknowledge the 2020 Completion Project. Driven by a small group of dedicated locals, the relocated Avenue was enhanced by the placement of bronze plaques detailing information about each person from the district enlisted in both World Wars 1 and 2. The installation of a flagpole, seating and interpretative signage at the memorial stone co...mpleted the project. Our Community Bank contributed to the funding pool which ensured delivery of this important historical project. The project achieving a huge milestone for the Buninyong Cricket Club by elevating their status into the Ballarat Cricket Association's first 11. From next season, Buninyong will welcome all the top sides in the competition playing on fresh turf. The portable classroom and resource centre provides a safe student space as part of this well-being project. 04.01.2022 2020 Impact Stories: Off and Running Our Community Bank assisted the Buninyong Little Athletics Club purchase new timing gates. The new equipment is much lighter and safer for volunteers to handle, more efficient to set-up and pack-up, and more accurately records data for the athletes. The improved equipment encourages young members to do their best and this starts with knowing their benchmark data. Athletes can then set personal development goals for themselves. The club fee...ling valued on a local level, as your support has helped our athletes be the best they can be, and have their running times accurately recorded to enable them to compete. It enables the athletes to know and feel cared for by their community. That they are part of something bigger.
