25.01.2022 Just a shout out to Col and Pam Hayes who are moving to Moama today to start the next chapter in their lives. Col and Pam have been long-time members of the Buninyong Bowling Club and will be greatly missed. Col has been a selector and coach amongst other roles, Pam has been an Auxiliary office-bearer and our catering coordinator, again amongst other roles, and both have been premiership team members. Unfortunately the current isolation protocols have prevented the club fro...m giving Col and Pam a farewell, but once this is all over, I am sure we will get them back and stage an appropriate function for them. Until then, we say good luck to them both and wish them all the best in their new home and community. I have no doubt that in the future, once COVID-19 is in our rear vision mirror, they will have many visits from members of our club and I know they will love seeing us. All the best guys! See more

13.01.2022 In honour of all the fathers out there, a couple of 'dad jokes.' My son asked me today, "Can I have a book mark?" and I burst into tears. He is 11 years old and he still doesn't know my name is Brian! What's the best part about living in Switzerland? I don't know but the flag is a big plus!... As a woodcutter I know that I have cut down exactly 2,417 trees. I know that because every time I cut one down, I keep a log! I'm only familiar with 25 letters of the alphabet. I don't know why. If you are a see a robbery at an Apple store, does that make you an iWitness? No please, don't thank me ......

04.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Just wanted to say g'day to everyone in these crazy times of isolation. I hope that everyone is finding constructive ways to fill in their time and that you are not going too stir-crazy. Whilst it is certainly frustrating that we do not have an end date for our current living conditions, the one consoling fact is that everyone is in the same boat. We are all in this together ... and that is how we will come out the other end. It certainly puts a perspective on ...things and makes you appreciate what we may have taken for granted previously. When it is finally over - and it will end if we continue to follow the protocols put in place - we can all look forward to getting back together over a meal or a drink or on the greens or wherever, and it will be great to once again catch up and renew friendships. Stay safe and healthy everyone - and if you are involved in one of the essential services who is still working - keep it up! You are doing a great job! Cheers See more

02.01.2022 A LITTLE STORY TO AMUSE YOU TODAY - SOME WOULD SAY SAD, BUT TRUE! Four old retired guys are walking down a street in Maroochydore. They turn a corner and see a sign that says,... Old Timer's Bar - all drinks 10 cents! They look at each other, and then go in, thinking this is too good to be true. The old bartender says in a voice that carries across the room, 'Come on in and let me pour one for you! What'll it be, Gentlemen?' There seems to be a fully-stocked bar, so each of the men asks for a martini. In short order, the bartender serves up four iced Martinis... shaken, not stirred, and says, 'That'll be 10 cents each, please.' The four men stare at the bartender for a moment then look at each other...they can't believe their good luck. They pay the 40 cents, finish their Martinis, and order another round. Again, four excellent Martinis are produced with the bartender again saying, 'That's 40 cents, please.' They pay the 40 cents, but their curiosity is more than they can stand. They have each had two Martinis and so far they've spent less than a dollar. Finally one of the men says, 'How can you afford to serve Martinis as good as these for 10 cents each?' 'I'm a retired tailor from Sydney,' the bartender says, 'and I always wanted to own a bar. Last year I hit the Lottery for $25 million and decided to open this place. Every drink costs 10 cents - wine, liquor, beer, it's all the same.' Wow!!!! That's quite a story,' says one of the men. The four of them sip their Martinis and can't help but notice seven other people at the end of the bar who don't have drinks in front of them, and haven't ordered anything the whole time they have been there. One man gestures at the seven at the end of the bar without drinks and asks the bartender, 'What's with them?' The bartender says, 'Oh, they're all from the local bowling club, waiting for happy hour when drinks are half price.'
