23.01.2022 Trying to work out where to sit & relax for a while. Another busy morning watering, tidying & finally found time to bake treats.

23.01.2022 Just add water....& some TLC. Great views, shame about the desert this time of year. Rain is supposed to be coming but not until Monday. Meanwhile we have been running sprinklers again to lessen the impact on our gardens @ Uki desert. At least they appear to be flourishing as a reward for our efforts and will continue to develop for your enjoyment over time... Please stay safe & unlike Dan wear these

21.01.2022 Please start raining! Gloomy looking sky but no moisture for the garden yet other than from the hours spent out hosing earlier. Busy rebooting the home ready for our next guests & going through a giant checklist. 2 sets of bed linen & towels all washed & drying, lawns have been mowed (needed an excuse to play on the ride on mower) & cleared a huge bucket of weeds from our future lawn.... We know the future lawn does not look much yet, just patches of green, but wait until the end of Summer & it will nearly be all grown together. We have also ordered a 10,000 water tank to capture rain water. Hopefully installed some time in January. Will sit roughly as shown by the circle in the last pic. Last but not least, the feed hose from the bore will be installed next Tuesday. After that we should have plentiful ground water for gardens. Most guests having a guided tour of our garden & food forest progress.

21.01.2022 HEAT WAVE Hopefully some preparation might help but parts of our garden are already starting to look scorched. We are not looking forward to seeing the results after the heat wave progresses. N.B 39C on Wednesday. We have just spent 2 hours running sprinklers & our tractor is still part way through watering the lower platform.... Looks like the air conditioners will be working overtime this week all powered from our solar array. Here are some happy snaps of our garden this morning. Love seeing our huge old Banksia in full bloom.

20.01.2022 Looks like we may have a new helper for morning cleaning up duties at Bunya Bunya House. His name is Perky & he seems to be doing a fine job.

18.01.2022 Beauty & comfort added to Bunya Bunya House while Fostering fur babies.

16.01.2022 Trying to work out which mountain is bringing the most inner peace today, the one in the first or the last pic. Stinking hot outdoors while our guests relax in air conditioned comfort. All energy to supply this treat is coming from the sun. On most days we generate 3 times our usage.

14.01.2022 Something is missing from the foreground of the first pic. Surely it is wine & snack time soon. Another stage of preparation work today to get our new bore pump functional. Next stage is sorting some electrics & all should be good. We will be able to draw water from 40 metrs below to help while we establish our future gardens. Apart from a pile the necessary excavation work the guys also cut a trench & buried a new pipe all the way up to a tank next to the house.... The also moved a small tank to a more logical location. Today's work was another step to ensuring we have a choice of plentiful affordable water sources available to use on our acreage.

11.01.2022 Apart from the 2 hours watering, starting around 5am, we have been running around trying to make sure the home is as spotless as possible. 2 sets of guests checking in tonight & we are nearly ready. Hopefully they won't fight as for who gets to luxuriate in the "bath with a view" first. We will be stocking the delightful gift cards on our display shelves starting today. This lovely scene of the main street of Uki certainly caught my attention. They are created by a local ...artist based in Uki, Katherine Castle, & are from her original watercolour. 10.01.2022 Breakfast @ Bunya Bunya House. Shame we are not able to dish up clear skies for our guests this morning but our gardens are very greatful for a small break from intense sunburn.

09.01.2022 Sounds like a great title for a murder mystery! Earlier today we did have some accommodation spaces available. Mid afternoon arrived and then there were none. We have just accepted a multi week booking commencing this Sunday. This, along with our other bookings, means we are FULL for the balance of the year.... If any cancellations arise then we will advise accordingly.

09.01.2022 Stewed Apple & Muesli Muffins today. Another hot one in the valley & our sprinklers have been working overtime. Supposed to be even hotter tomorrow but at least our new plants are being given every chance to survive. Watering tractor is busily soaking the bottom platform just before Sunset .

08.01.2022 It has to be 5pm somewhere. Wine time started early today at Bunya Bunya House. Plenty of wine chilled & some snacks just baked. For catering purposes, how many of you are coming to watch the Sunset tonight?

08.01.2022 A Sunset pic........just so you know what you are missing. Look at how much our Zinnia have grown. All going well a mass of orange flowers will fill this little bed in the coming months.

07.01.2022 Have nearly finished rebooting our 2 guest bedrooms. We think both our Bunya Room & our Heritage room look warm & inviting. Last minute dust, vacuum & polish until we are ready. ... The views out of the windows on a gloomy day don't do either room justice.

04.01.2022 Some pics of the view from the Bunya Room & Heritage Room on a not so gloomy day. Just indoors after a solid 6 hour shift in the garden again this morning. Found homes for another 50 potted plants in the ground, potted up another 30 plants & tidied up the mass of potted plants that will make up our future garden. All coming together slowly.

02.01.2022 Don't you love teaser headlines but it is true, we have only 2 weekends left until the end of 2020. We do have some mid week opportunities but the only 2 weekends we have left to accept bookings for 2020 is the first & second weekends in December. For some strange reason our humble little abode, with rather ordinary views, is rather popular.... If you are contemplating grabbing a break at Bunya Bunya House this year then do not leave your plans to book for very long.
