25.01.2022 As we learnt from the Fundamentals of Scouting, a big part of Scouts is making a positive contribution to our communities. The Special Interest Area Creating a ...Better World is used when doing a project that contributes to your local, national or international community. Projects for this SIA could include participating in Clean Up Australia Day, volunteering at your local animal shelter, raising money for a good cause and so much more! These projects should also be registered as a Messenger of Peace Project on www.scouts.org so that Scouts from around the world can see your project and be inspired for their own! : Agoonoree #ReadySetScout #SpecialInterestArea #CreatingaBetterWorld #MessengerOfPeace See more

20.01.2022 Our Youth Program is designed to encourage young people to try new things and peruse existing interests. The Special Interest Areas are just one of the ways our... program does this! When proposing a Special Interest Area (SIA) Project for their Achievement Pathway, Scouts use Plan>Do>Review> to set a goal that challenges them in one of the 6 categories of the SIA’s and then work towards achieving it. Setting personal goals means all SIA Projects are relevant and inclusive for the young person aiming to achieve it! #SIA #ReadySetScout #achievementpathways See more

19.01.2022 It’s National Children’s Week! A week where we celebrate the right of children to enjoy childhood and to demonstrate their talents, skills and abilities in a safe and vibrant community! Find out more about how to celebrate National Children’s Week here https://www.childrensweek.org.au/
19.01.2022 Sad news as we officially announce we are unable to proceed with our planned competition camp. With the Premier announcing tougher restrictions today and more... guidelines on camping still being finalised by Scouts Queensland; we feel it is not in the best interests of our Scouts, Leaders and organising team to proceed (especially for a competition camp). Our region commissioner is now liaising with other region commissioners to discuss future plans for Easter 2021 and we will wait to hear more about where Kiwi Woggle will be hosted.

08.01.2022 The Adventure and Sports Special Interest Area expands on the areas of physical personal prowess in ways that are not covered in the Outdoor Adventure Skills. ...Does a Scout want to learn how to swim a new stroke, run a new distance, kick a goal from the 50m line, or follow in the footsteps of their ancestors? This is their opportunity to cross over beyond the traditional Scouting Outdoor Adventures to develop their skills and interests further! 05.01.2022 The Special Interest Area (SIA) that is about expressing oneself, being imaginative and pushing creative boundaries is called Arts and Literature! 03.01.2022 In Scouts, we aim to create opportunities for young people to grow and learn skills for life. The Challenge Area that supports this in programming is Personal ...Growth. Through this Area, Scouts are encouraged to explore health and wellbeing, mental health, beliefs and values and social justice. Using this program tool builds an understanding of the world around us and strengthens our individual life journeys. #ReadySetScout #PersonalGrowth See more
