23.01.2022 What a wonderfully wet wintery weekend! As part of our rotational grazing program we shifted our young bulls this weekend and after a number of heavy frosts on the creek flats, I think they’ll enjoy their new paddock on slightly higher ground! I’ve got a soft spot for the red Brahman - his sire Big Red was a particular favourite of mine so I’m hoping Junior will live up to expectation! I also spent time doing some monitoring in the paddocks, checking and measuring feed ava...ilable and seeing how the land has been responding to the recent rain. While looking around I found this cute little dung beetle (hiding under his home/restaurant)! They’ve been quite active despite the cool weather which is great to see. 18.01.2022 The Grass Trees (Xanthorrhoea) are starting to flower I’ve tried to circle them in the second photo as it’s a bit hard to see! 16.01.2022 This is one of my favourite trees on the property - and it looks amazing with green grass underneath it! Our forage sorghum, green panic, legumes and other seeds we planted are growing through nicely with the existing native pasture which will create some great feed for our cattle over summer. 13.01.2022 We took some of our girls for a walk on Saturday (photos 1-3) and they travelled beautifully to their new paddock. I think they quite enjoyed the view from the water trough (photo 4). No rain unfortunately but we are hoping the predicted La Niña will bring some relief soon (photo 5). 12.01.2022 The Bunya Mountains National Park is doing some planned burns over the next few days - always a little heart-starter to see smoke on the mountains but good to see management action being taken to preserve and protect our Parks and surrounding environments. 03.01.2022 This old windmill is a pre-1906 model and has been a good worker for many years, chugging along with the odd repair for well over a century. This windmill originally came from a previous family property and was shifted to this spot about 10 years ago. She now gets to rest and stand as a sentinel over the latest solar array and pump in our water infrastructure program. From one form of renewable energy to the next! Not sure the solar panels will be quite as long-lived though - it will take a bit of doing to beat the 120+ year record of the windmill!

03.01.2022 The things you see driving home from town! This little chappie was being chaperoned off the road by my lovely neighbour, and I came along just in time to catch a few photos as he scurried up a nearby tree to safety (the koala not the neighbour lol) Koalas (much like their feared cousins the Drop Bear ) are mostly nocturnal so you don’t see them much in the day. This one was making a late afternoon dash from a near by creek for the trees. 01.01.2022 A beautiful golden sunset (photos 1 & 2) today topped off a great week for Bunya Beef Grazing with our delivery run to Brisbane successfully completed on Thursday! We’ve been happy to receive great feedback from customers and we’re looking forward to our next delivery 8th October (details will be released this week!). I was so excited I forgot to get photos but will try to remember next time! Today our wonderful Vet from Burnett Beef and Equine checked our bulls to ensuring t...hey are sound, healthy and fully vaccinated before heading out with our cows in the next few weeks. This lovely Belmont Red gave a little pose on his way out the gate Our young heifers are continuing to grow out nicely. The wooden posts in this photo are from where my great-grandmas house was - a beautiful spot but a bit on the chilly side in winter! I love the views from the top of this block (photo 2) - you can just make out the Tarong power station and the mine if you look carefully!
