09.01.2022 Bunya House loves cookbooks, Bunya House loves farmers and Bunya House loves local! Whilst not quite as local as the Southern Highlands of NSW this beautiful cookbook by @locallovely is a seasonal guide to the fruit, vegetables and meat that Australian farmers produce. Written by Sophie Hansen it has charming introductions to many of the various primary producers in the Orange district including elderbery growers and apiarists. And wonderful recipes. I want to thank Soph...ie for the blog she shares through her Local is Lovely website every week ‘Five reasons to be cheerful on a Monday’. I really love its arrival in my inbox and have listened to many of the podcasts she recommends. Plus delicious recipes. There should always be a reason the be cheerful! Sophie runs by all accounts fabulous workshops which are on our 2019 bucket list! See more

09.01.2022 Bunya House’s grandmother Claudia adored animals in all shapes and sizes, particularly birds and dogs. I think from memory she was also partial to warthogs. We love this one by Julian Smith together with its hilarious inscription ‘Jambo & all that, Mrs Cres. Christmas ‘78 with much love (I wrote on the back so you can flog it if you want to!)’.
