24.01.2022 NOTE: That as the end of this recording is a corroboree song and a sad story of the last days of Bunda, who was waiting for Mr Bell to pick him up. A full trans...cription of what is said is provided. This recording focuses on Harry 'Bunda' Darlow [Wakka Wakka] stockman from Jimbour Station. Born in 1870. Adrian Betties's does most of the conversation as the nephew of Bunda and Nathan Morris spends time explaining Ray Humphrys tape. When asked what should be done for Aboriginal people today, Bunda's reply was simple "Give them money, for working" Note that there is also taping of Christopher Rolleston, attacks on Aboriginal people due to racial conflicts occurring during this time See more

24.01.2022 Research is currently occurring to determine if the dingoes of Bunya Mountains are there own sub- species. You will encounter black and tan as well as fawn dingoes. They are both nocturnal and diurnal. Conserving the natural light rhythm in the Bunya Mountains as well as conserving our apex predators - be they dingoes, wedge-tailed Eagles, powerful owls, spiders or snakes - is essential for both biodiversity and ecological health. https://www.google.com.au//s/amp.abc.net./article/11701018

17.01.2022 Many thanks to Zern Liew for adding the word "International" into his original logo for Bunya Mountains International Dark Sky Park. We will need the logo to correctly identify our "international" status when the International Dark-Sky Association designates Bunya Mountains as one of the world's dark sky places.

15.01.2022 Adam Lundie, 31 August: "NGC 3717 is a large spiral galaxy 60 million light years from Earth. Although 100,000 light years across, seen side-on, the galactic disk appears thin with prominent dust lanes."

11.01.2022 NGC 7293 the Helix Nebula in the constellation of Aquarius. It is a planetary nebula over 650 light years away from Earth. 06.01.2022 Jupiter 11th August 2020. Another night of good seeing, and the GRS on view again. Meade LX90 8" SCT with 2x Barlow lens and Orion RGB filters via ZWO ASI 290MM CMOS camera. Processed in Autostakkert, Registax, WinJUPOS and Photoshop CC.

06.01.2022 This is a little something I've been working on for quite a while. It's been about 3 years since I thought of the idea, and it's taken me about that long to mak...e an image to the point I'm happy enough with it to post it online. This image pretty much can't be done without doing some Photoshop trickery, only because sunflower crops don't get planted until the end of the year and the milky way core isn't visible in the night sky at those months. I always approach my images like I'm a painter. Mainly because I wish I could paint or draw. I gave up on that idea long ago when I realised stick figures wouldn't quite cut it in the art world. So I use what I feel comfortable with. A camera and editing software. Anyway, I'm hoping this seasons crops go gangbusters and there's plenty of flowers to take images of! The sky is a 10 image vertical panorama taken on a Canon 6D with a samyang 24mm 1.4 lens. All shots were at f2 ISO6400 exp. 10 seconds. The foreground is a 3 image panorama that I focus stacked to try and get focus throughout the whole image. I took it on the same lens and camera combo at twighlight (about 4am) at f5.6 ISO 800 3 sec exposure. I used Lightroom and Photoshop to blend and create the composite. Lr for the colours and exposure for the foreground and the sky was done mostly in PS.

06.01.2022 NGC5170 is a rarely photographed spiral galaxy approximately 96 million light years distant. The core is comprised of old yellow stars, with young blue stars in its spiral arms, obscured by prominent dust lanes.
