04.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we farewell one of BPAC’ founding members and stalwart for caring for country. Uncle Mal was integral for establishing the BPAC from the Bunya Mountains Elders Council and was a staunch advocate for reviving Aboriginal communities’ roles to be custodians of country. Uncle Mal never flinched from his dedication to ensure BPAC’s business was conducted with a focus on healing country and community. We will miss Uncle Mal’s wisdom and send our heartfelt condolences to all family and friends. Uncle Mal’s passing heightens BPAC’s commitment to achieving the aspirations of all the Elders and knowledge holders who have laid the foundations for the vital work in Healing Country, and we look forward to seeing Uncle Mal’s visions become a reality. Vale Uncle Mal.
