25.01.2022 Hi everyone, as I’m sure you’re all aware, we are currently experiencing a very serious public concern. At this stage all lessons will be going ahead as usual. ...Coaches will be taking precautions and will be following the advice coming through from Tennis Australia and health care professionals. We ask our families to please make sure your children have washed their hands before and after lessons to minimise risk. As well as advising kids to not touch anyone else’s racquet. Having said all this if you are not comfortable with having your children attend lessons, that is fine, just let me know and I’ll endeavour to arrange a make up lesson at a later date. Kind Regards, Chris & the AAT team

25.01.2022 Hi everyone, today we’ve received confirmation from Cardinia Shire Council that as a result of the re-introduction of Stage 3 restrictions, all community sport is to be cancelled, and with effect from midnight tomorrow no further use of the facilities is permitted. This will be effective for at least 6 weeks, and means that there will be no further social play, training or coaching until further notice. We appreciate that this is really disappointing for everyone, but obvious...ly we must support the decision of the State and local government, and the safety and well-being of our members and the wider community is the main priority. We will be in touch with any further updates. In the meantime, stay safe everyone, and hopefully see you back on court very soon Vanessax

24.01.2022 Let's get tennis back soon

24.01.2022 Hi all, I hope that this finds you well. Following the Premier’s announcement today, and ongoing work by the Bunyip TC Committee, we would like to share some updates with you. Membership Fees ... As you know, the Bunyip Tennis Club membership year runs from 1 October 30 September, and we advised you a few weeks ago that a decision in relation to fees for the 2020/21 membership year had been put on hold until we had more information regarding play. The committee has been considering various options given the limited play during the past year and inevitably during the current 2020/21 year, and I am pleased to announce that it has been agreed that the 2019/20 membership year will be extended to June 2021, with no fee increase for new members. What does this mean? All current paid up members for the 2019/20 year will automatically have their membership extended up until 30 June 2021, meaning an extended one off 21-month membership year from 1 October 2019 to 30 June 2021. Any new members joining before 30 June 2021 will be charged a pro rata fee, based on the 2019/20 fees and on a 21-month year, rounded up to the nearest dollar eg. a new senior member joining on 1 January 2021 would be joining for 6 months 6/21 x $80 =$22.85. Fee would be $23.00. From 1 July 2021, the Club membership year will run from 1 July 30 June each year, in line with the financial year. COVID-19 Update As you will have heard, Daniel Andrews announced this morning that from tomorrow there is some easing of restrictions, including the scrapping of the two-hour exercise time limit and also outdoor sports settings, including tennis courts, can reopen. This is great news for those of us desperate to get back on the court. Tennis Victoria have since confirmed today: Outdoor tennis courts can reopen - clubhouses must remain closed Groups of up to 10 are allowed from a maximum of 2 households. We don't yet know if this is per court or per venue and whether or not a coach will be included in the 10. We are currently waiting for further direction from Tennis Vic and also Cardinia Shire Council in relation to use of the facilities. In the meantime, the committee continues to work on our ‘COVID-19’ plans, and as soon as we have any news, we will endeavor to open the facilities as soon as possible and of course will let you know of arrangements. Thank you for your ongoing patience and we hope to see you on court soon. Take care & stay safe!

22.01.2022 You may have seen the good news that further lifting of restrictions means competitive non-contact sport can resume from 22 June! We now await further directive from Tennis Vic, the various associations who organise the leagues our members play in and of course Cardinia Shire Council regarding use of the facilities. Watch this space and further information will be released as we receive it. Just a reminder that anyone wishing to have a hit should contact Helen Ross on 0411274025 or [email protected] to book a court

15.01.2022 Congratulations to Committee member, Leonie Miller, who recently completed an accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course which was funded by the club and subsidised by Cardinia Shire Council. The course was run by Richmond Institute, the education arm of the Richmond Football Club, who are qualified to deliver the only internationally accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course. 13.01.2022 Hi everyone, obviously with the new restrictions in place we’ll be putting a hold on term 3 tennis lessons. An invoice will be sent out this week for the last 3...weeks of completed lessons. I'll be in touch as soon as we hear more information in relation to getting back on court again in Sept. 11.01.2022 Dear AAT members, I hope everyone is enjoying their school holidays as much as they can in this current situation. While we may not be able to do all the normal... things we usually do over a holiday period, I hope at least you are enjoying some valuable family time. Just to update you all on what tennis looks like going forward. Tennis Victoria has stated that all tennis related programs and coaching be cancelled, including 1on1 coaching until further notice and local councils have also closed sporting facilities until further notice. With these restrictions in place I won’t be able to coach group lessons for what will most likely be the whole of Term 2. Whilst I fully understand the reasonings behind these restrictions, it saddens me that I may not be able to even coach privates coming into Term 2. As information coming in from the governing bodies changes in the coming weeks and months, I will be in touch when I can at least resume private lessons. My livelihood is the tennis court and while I am enjoying the time with my family so much, nothing would make me more happy than to be able to get your kids out on court and having a hit. Our kids mental and physical health is extremely important right now and I wish I was able to help. In regards to playing weekend competition, all aspects of the Winter 2020 season has been postponed until such time is deemed safe. As the health and safety of our players and associate club members is our highest priority we see no other reasonable decision can be made at this time. Stay SAFE everyone and I hope to see some of you out on court again soon. Cheers, Chris
