25.01.2022 WORLD CAT DAY Lets celebrate all that quirky cat behaviour! What else would you add to this list?! *Ignore expensive, fluffy cat beds - sleep in the box instead *Meow to be let into the room. Then meow to be let out. Repeat ad infinitum.... *Turn your nose up at what was your favourite food yesterday *Always find a piece of carpet to puke on *Scatter litter as far as you can possibly fling it. (Bonus points if u fling poop too) *Meow loudly when anyone is in kitchen so you get a treat... then turn up nose and walk away. *Get the zoomies at 3am every morning - bound across humans bed (face preferably) *Stare at your bikkie bowl like it is completely empty if u can see the bottom showing. Refuse to eat til they refill it. *Ignore scratch posts - use all available furniture instead *Nibble house plants til they resemble swiss cheese *If you ever see the cat carrier come out - hide - its never a good thing *Purr and rub all over human for attention - when they show you some - bite and swat them instead, then run away **ELOISE STILL UP FOR ADOPTION!!!** **21 MONTHS IN CARE**

24.01.2022 Ash and Izzy!! They are both very sociable kittens who like human company, even seeking you out if you aren't in the room. They don't mind being picked up and carried (gently of course!). They like to cuddle up next to you for plenty of pats while purring and kneading away. These guys are still kittens, at around 5 mths old, so pretty much have 2 speeds - full on and sound asleep. A list of their favourite things includes - head scratches, back rubs, food, chasing anything th...at moves, food, snacks, toys, naps and more snacks. They are super sweet and very smoochy and would love to be your best friend! They are just, in general, all round perfect kittens who would fit in easily with any family. When she's done playing, she will happily curl up next to you or, preferably, on you for a little nap. Easygoing and affectionate - she would fit well into any family. 21.01.2022 Spicks & Specks! ONE YEAR IN CARE!!! (and not one enquiry for them ) When these guys first came into care they were timid and scared but soon warmed up and became loving members of the family! They are incredibly bonded - they eat together, play together, sleep together. We would ideally like them to be adopted together! They would suit a quieter household where people understand they need time to get used to you. SPICKS- (aka Buddy)... Male, has a beautiful black coat with flecks of white throughout, making him look like a bit of an old man. Bolder than his sister and loves playing, tackling and climbing the cat trees/posts. Loving boy who likes to sleep with you. "Hugs" you with his paws when you pat him. Stands up to meet your hand for pats (because he just cant wait for you to bend down to pat him). SPECKS- (aka Bubby) Female, gorgeous soft, tortoiseshell coat with little "flame" (orange) on tip of her tail. Shy girl but loves getting patted, and running around chasing cat toys and her brother. Obsessed with her mouse toy, carries it around in her mouth, meowing to show you what she "caught". Purrs up a storm when being patted, flops to the floor and rubs herself all over you. 17.01.2022 Introducing 2 older gentlemen - Mav and Salem! These dapper lads were left at the pound, which is unfair for any animal, but especially for a 7 and 9yr old! Salem (9) is quite easy going and still has a bit of a playful attitude. Mav (7) is a little more reserved, a gentle, quiet boy. Both are friendly and affectionate. As they are senior fellows, a quieter home would be ideal. 14.01.2022 Dynamic duo - Ricki and Rosie! Ive never seen 2 cats so ridiculously in love. These girls have been rescued from an absolutely horrid situation. Both were really ill, requiring surgery to survive. But they are now recovering well and looking for a stable, happy home to live out their days. And even though they have had such a troubled past, they are happy and affectionate and loving life in foster care. They are pretty low maintenance, chill girls who would like nothing more... than a comfy couch or bed to relax beside you, while you give them plenty of pats. They are great at keeping themselves occupied, spending most of their time cuddling with each other. If u are looking for some awesome loyal companions, then look no further! 13.01.2022 *PARVO VIRUS OUTBREAK* The Burdekin Shire region, including Bowen and Collinsville have had an increasing amount of cases recently of the very contagious and de...adly virus -Parvo. Clinical signs include: lethargy, vomiting and diarrhoea. If you see any of these it is important to phone the vet clinic immediately. Often the virus affects our younger dogs that have not been protected by a course of vaccines. Its not always easily treated but can be prevented by a course of vaccinations when you first acquire a new dog. Do you and your dog a favour and come see the girls at Burdekin Vets to ensure your dog is covered from this virus. 09.01.2022 You can still meet our animals in foster care by appointment! While we cannot hold adoption days at the moment, we are still offering meet and greets for potential adopters at foster carers houses. Please be mindful of social distancing rules (1.5mtrs), handwashing/sanitising before entering our carers houses, and limit the number of people attending (1 or 2 only). Also, if you are feeling unwell, please stay home! Our animals rely on our carers to remain safe and healthy! Please also do not be offended if some animals become unavailable for meetings. If you wouldnt let strangers into your home at this time, our carers shouldnt be expected to either.

06.01.2022 Hello! My name is Ronny! I love going for my walks and runs everyday with my carer and her dogs. I come to my new name well and I love watching them swim but I dont go in the water. (Update: the other dogs have convinced me that swimming is fun and i like it now!!) I walk well on the lead and love my toys in the yard. I am sorta like a Bull Arab x but much smaller. I am about 12 months old and I am medium size, about 25 kilos. I need a fair bit of stimulation, so daily walks and playtime would be good and a good enclosure to keep me safe.
