12.01.2022 Charges Laid from Home Hill Drug Bust A POOR start to Tuesday morning has seen a Home Hill man charged with several drug-related offences and given a future court appearance. The Ayr Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) executed a search warrant at a Home Hill address on Tuesday, 24th February, locating drugs and drug paraphernalia. The CIB located several one-ounce bags of Cannabis, the equivalent of 330 grams of the drug. ... Also located inside the property were scales, several clipseal bags, and smoking utensils. A 44-year old man will attend Ayr Magistrates Court on Monday 22nd March, in relation to the warrant, facing charges of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils, and possessing items used in connection with drugs. The new 9-piece obstacle course will feature as part of Home Hill's Watson's Green and Memorial Park redevelopment masterplan, and is expected to be completed by the end of May. 06.01.2022 CONSERVE WATER - MT KELLY Mt Kelly residents are also being requested to conserve water until further notice. A Burdekin Shire Council crew is in the process of clearing and refilling the reservoir, however the process is expected to take several hours and may result in interruptions to water supply.... Mt Kelly water remains safe to drink, however it should not be used for any non-essential purposes to ensure availability of potable water.
06.01.2022 - Rita Island Bridge Closure - Rita Island residents are urged to make all preparations with the Anna Branch Bridge expected to be closed tonight due to flooding. Burdekin Shire Council is encouraging the Rita Island community to stock up on essential supplies, including long-lasting food, medication and drinking water, following readings at Burdekin Falls Dam suggesting Anabranch Bridge could flood in the next 12-15 hours.
05.01.2022 CONSERVE WATER - GIRU Giru residents are being requested to conserve water until further notice. Townsville City Council have advised that the Cungulla Water Treatment Plant, which draws water from the Haughton River, is currently offline due to increased turbidity in the River.... While the Haughton River remains below minor flood levels, increased river flows are the main cause of turbidity in the water. The water within Giru township remains safe to drink, however should not be used for any non-essential purposes including any clean up to ensure availability of potable water.
