24.01.2022 A great avenue for our local juniors to take the next step on their playing journey.
24.01.2022 As the shadows grow long over Burekup Oval, it is with the deepest of hearts, that the Burekup Cricket Club wishes to honour a member of our club, Chris Squid Smith, who sadly passed away during the week at the young age of 21. Chris had been a previous member of the Leschenault Cricket Club, the Brunswick Cricket Club, Wellington Cricket Association & most recently playing with the Burekup Cricket Club. He was a vital cog in Burekup’s 2016/17 Premiership side & had return...ed to the club this season, with mates in tow, to reinvigorate his love for the game of cricket. The club wishes to extend a massive thanks to its sponsors, players, families & friends in this time of sorrow. Thank you to the BDCA, the Eaton Cricket Club & Collie Cricket Club for their understanding of our need to withdraw our sides from today’s senior games. The respect shown across the association, has been heartfelt by the club & the family. See more

22.01.2022 Hello there Burekup Cricket Club Sponsors, Friends, Family and Followers.. Apologies for taking so long to get this out but it has been a little bit of a crazy end to the season, has it not??? Our usual awards presentation evening was spoilt, along with many, many other sporting clubs and associations, by the COVID-19 bug sweeping the planet, but that did not stop us from having an impromptu gathering before we all went into LOCKDOWN. I would like to now formally acknowledg...Continue reading
22.01.2022 Following on from our good start to the 2020/21 season last week, we continued on the milestone track with some more grand performances in Round 2. With 3 junior teams, the Yr6s had to take a road trip for a home game, and travelled down the road to Brunswick. Even though it was only game 2, the improvements in their skills was already noticeable, and the encouragement that could be heard from all the team members was awesome. It was fantastic to watch. The Yr7s has their ...first home game at ‘The Hive’ and in his first game of the season, returning from injury, Toby King was in impressive form retiring on 27 runs off 25 balls & taking 4 for 1 off 2 overs. And in the Yr10s it was a double celebration of leadership with both the skipper & the vice retiring unbeaten on 50 runs. Emmett Templeton backing up his unbeaten 50 last week, finishing with 50* off 32 & Alijaah Evans 50* off 48 balls. Great stuff lads. Last game we gave the highlight of the round to the first of our maidens taking the field; this week we had our second female player debut with Giaan Evans, gearing up in the Yr10s. So this weeks Highlight of the Round goes to Giaan. #girlscanplay #cricketaustralia #thankyousponsors #cricketsforeveryone

21.01.2022 Great opportunity for all our Burekup kids..!
19.01.2022 This weekends squads to battle it out in the White, Black & Gold plus last weeks results.!! Good luck teams.!!!!
19.01.2022 C grade we’re the only winners for the club this weekend with all other teams being outdone by their opposition. The standout performance of the C grade game was Matthew Doherty who took 4/16 off 6 overs and then followed it up with an unbeaten 64. We had 3 junior players make their C Grade debut on the weekend too with Isaac & Alijaah Evans & Emmett Templeton all taking the field. The future is looking good. The Yr6s came up against a much older & stronger Leschenault Shark...s side. With a few players that can spend the next 2 or 3 years playing in the Yr6 comp we think our young Bees held themselves well. D grade lost by 2 wickets in a close game at Dalyellup. 3 more juniors took to the field for the match & all took catches. Caleb Cooke was the pick of our bowlers with 3/24 off 6.5 overs. Congratulations must go to Jeramy Davies who chalked up his maiden half century finishing with 52*. The Yr9s had a double header weekend but were outdone on both Saturday against Dalyellup & Sunday at home against Eaton. Rhys Watkins finished with 3 wickets in both games (3/20 & 3/29). There was another maiden half century for Saturday, this time Henry King (50*), with Isaac Evans (39) the top scorer on Sunday. With 1 game left until the Xmas & New Year break, all teams will be looking for a win this weekend to finish off 2019.!!
18.01.2022 Well done & good luck to the Burekup representatives.!!!!
17.01.2022 Hello Everyone. For those that came across to the Burekup Cricket Club Come-N-Try Day last Sunday, we are eternally sorry. There was a miscommunication and we weren't actually there to see your eager, smiling faces.!! As such, we are going to hold another Come-n-Try session NEXT WEDNESDAY the 23rd September between 4:30 and 5:30pm. Any young, budding cricketers are welcomed to come and have a go. The session will be held at the Burekup Oval near the cricket nets.... 15.01.2022 Not long now.!!! Burekup Cricket Club is happy to announce that we have grown from 2 to 3 junior sides this year. We will be sporting a Yr6, a Yr7 and a Yr10 side as well as the 2 senior sides.!! The junior season will commence on Sat 24th Oct & the seniors on the 31st.! ... If you find yourself in need of something to do on a Saturday, come on down & support the Bees
15.01.2022 Mixed results for the seniors season opener on the weekend. D grade went down to Hay Park, but with promising signs from the young brigade coming through. C grade however made a statement with a stellar opening partnership of 278 runs. A huge effort by Dylan Heasman who racked up an impressive 212 runs. The Burekup juniors will start off their season this weekend with the year 9s traveling to Eaton to take on last year’s premiers & the year 6s having a home game against Dard...anup. The junior & master Blasters will kick off their sessions on Thursday next week (24th). Gotta love cricket
15.01.2022 A great opportunity for the girls and ladies to learn from One of the best.
14.01.2022 Another mixed bag for the club on the weekend with 2 wins and 2 losses. The Yr6s continued on their winning form making it 5 wins from 5 games and the C Grade side bounced back from a narrow loss against Marist to defeat Colts by 150+ runs. Unfortunately the Yr9s and D Grade suffered convincing defeats at the hands of Colts and Harvey-Benger respectively. Stand out performances of the weekend both coming from the C Grade game: Dylan Heasman 119 runs off 121 balls (14 x 4s and 3 x 6s) & Brendan Ebert 5/13 off 9 overs

11.01.2022 Our teams for this weekend. In last weeks results who would have thought we could have had not one, but TWO drawn matches - and both against Donnybrook. What are the odds of that.!!!?
11.01.2022 The Burekup Cricket Club was well represented again at the alcohol think again Junior Country Week championships held in Perth this last week. We had 10 players who donned the red & green of the Wellington Cricket Association across 3 divisions; 16A: Henry King, Isaac Evans, Emmett Templeton & Alijaah Evans. 16C: Lucas Pierce, Jack Vitali, Joe Van Nierop, Devon Oelofse & Laughlin Davies.... 14A: Toby King It was tough competition in all divisions and the young 16A’s side ending the week winless but forged new friendships with other teams from across the state & strengthened mateships internally. Isaac the pick of the bowlers against Geraldton, finishing with 4/18 off 6.5 overs. The 16C’s finished 3rd in their division after defeating Northam. Some notable performances; 4/4 off 1 over, including a personal hat trick AND a team hat trick, to Laughlan Davies & 1/5 off 10 overs with 7 maidens - Jack Vitali. The 14A’s were the talk of the week, with a very young side defeating Bunbury in the Semi & then going on to beat Albany in the grand final with 2 balls to spare and making it back-to-back Wellington u14A champions. We also had some other Burekup juniors go to JCW with a Bunbury side. From what we’ve heard, they all had a blast. Well done to Riley O’Rourke & Kash Thompson. Special thanks to all the coaches, volunteers, managers & supporters from all of Wellington’s catchment clubs; Burekup, Collie, Eaton, Leschenault, Dardanup & Harvey-Benger.

09.01.2022 Supporting Women's Cricket in the South West.
09.01.2022 Wow. What a cracking start to the 2020/21 season we had today with some amazing milestones for our club & it’s individuals. Today we saw no less than 10 players take to the field in their first ever games of cricket across 3 grades. Our Yr10 Skipper, Emmett Templeton, notched up his maiden half century finishing unbeaten on 53. 53* off 50 balls.... In the Yr7s, Devon Oelofse brought up his maiden half century with his first ever 6, also finishing unbeaten. 52* off 62 balls. Dev is pictured below raising his bat walking off the oval in a retired state. And in the highlight of the round, in the Yr6s, we had our maiden maiden take to the field. Acacia Van Der Heide became the first of our first ever two Junior female players for the Burekup Cricket Club (our other female player will hit the field in the year 10’s next week ) In other club milestones; a huge shout out to our coaches who coached their first games today too. Dougal Herd & Ben O'Rourke #girlscanplay #cricketsforeveryone #howzat #gameon #cricketaustralia #thankscoach #thankssponsors
07.01.2022 First Boundaries. First Wickets. First Catches. Even a Hat-Trick. That was this weekends cricketing results for the Burekup juniors. In the Yr6s, Ethan grabbed his first 'career' wickets taking 2 of the 3 Grammar scalps that fell at the Highway Oval. Dhairya Shah & Giaan Evans struck their first 'career' boundaries as the Yr10s hung on for their first win of the season. Giaan also took her first catch.... But this weeks Player of the Round has to go to Riley O'Rourke who tore through the Colts Black batting attack finishing with the amazing bowling figures of 4/3 off 2 including a HAT-TRICK (all bowled.! )
06.01.2022 We don’t like cricket, we love it! Especially after rain last week interrupted the season for most grades. It was all sunshine today though! Game on!... Year 6s - great feedback from the opposition coach saying our team’s fielding was the best he has seen this season. Our opening batters Acacia and Liam held their wicket early - well done kids!! Running between wickets has improved. Loving watching the year 6s grow Year 10s - high 5 to Giaan for stepping in as keeper when an early injury in the match took Alijaah out. She did amazing!!! And took her first keepers catch and when it looked dicey early in the run chase, a 69 run partnership between Henry and Jack put us in with a shot. Our team did great, but fell short. The year 7s travelled to the turf of Harvey and posted a sizeable score thanks to 47 to Devon Oelofse and a maiden half century to Toby King. Our boys backed it up with the ball to take the win!! BUT this weeks Junior Player of the Round goes to Toby King who finished on 50* and took 3/4 off 2 well done kiddo

02.01.2022 Thank you to all respondents to our survey on SWPL. We have received a great response so far, but require more numbers for Wellington to move forward with SWPL... this season. If you haven't participated in our survey yet, please do. I have also had indications from CSW that the Under 16's SWPL will be changed to Under 18's in conjunction with the CDP Program. Participation in SWPL is a gateway to the CDP Program. This will give Under 18's more opportunities for cricket enhancement leading up to Country Colts. See more
