E...ach and every one of our block print garments has been made by hand in a style that has barely changed for hundreds of years. The woodblock printing process, which is one of the earliest & most beautiful methods of textile printing in India is a technique that has been passed down through generations. This ancient art dates back centuries and the process is time-consuming and labour-intensive. A printing pattern is drawn onto paper, then transferred and carved out of a perfectly smooth block of wood. Lengths of fabric are then stamped with colour using the hand-carved wood blocks. This process is repeated over and over again, by only the steadiest hands. Each print is done by eye, and the human hand. Any print imperfections are part of the humanity, beauty and characteristics of the craft, making each individual garment unique. It’s been an enjoyable journey bringing our striking and bold prints to life.
