08.01.2022 Council whistles, local media wags their tailsThat some media is now slavishly following the council dictates or even simply publishing the Spin Doctors' prepared scripts & photo opsCannot be doubtedThe story this morning about parking fines & "mass transport" is an example of how tying everything to an agenda regardless of how appropriate or not leads to some pretty strange bedfellows trying to lie down together
07.01.2022 Good Sense Says Plant the Verge, council says don'tIn defiance of all good sense & modern thinking this council insists on "Iron Clad" control over what it won't even maintainThats why our council is Smart, Healthy & Creative, a motto obviously totally denied by its profoundly unimaginative verge policy
07.01.2022 Will Chris Thompson apply to be the CEO of the council?Wouldn't that be cosy?We can only hope that the new council wouldn't consider it appropriate with at least some having a conflict of interest if that did happenAfter all the appoint of a new CEO must be a priority for the new council & the councilors should make themselves very informed about he credentials of the applicantsLast time it seems the appoint may have been left to a small group & some councilors professed almost total ignorance about the eventual appointee
05.01.2022 This council is morally bankrupt as is the media that fawns after itTheir proposal to spend $80 million on a "Tower of Power" luxury council chambers & another vote buying $250 million on a stadium Is despicable when many of our local residents will probably face more catastrophic events later this year than they did in the last few months
04.01.2022 Who’s the Top Bully at Council?Isn’t it always a Top Down Issue?In the Daily article it is interesting that Connolly worked "for" Michael Whittaker, when the people's elected representatives are supposed to be directing the operating arm of the council managed by Whittaker.It is also interesting that the council indulged in an apparent subterfuge or confusing us for 24 hours about why the CEO stepped down.
