25.01.2022 ...apologies for being so slack and not posting for several months...but August blended into Christmas and then New Year...you know how it goes. However those few months were a good chance to clear old stock and replenish our store with hundreds of new items. We acquired a few estates with literally 1000s of old postcards, photographs, cabinet cards, etc....many bulk lots of the beautiful old postcards/albums went around end end of last year/early this year, however we have... just listed hundreds of old 'cabinet card' photo portraits, particularly from studios around Adelaide (and country SA) from late 1800s to early 1900s, with lots of great fashion (and few 'interesting' looking people from those eras). All items we currently have on our ebay store (price showing includes postage with tracking). We also have a large range of vintage framed prints from the 1940s to 1970/80s that are not listed on our store but listed through Facebook Marketplace/Gumtree and available for pickup from Colonel Light Gdns. Feel free to call me on 0419823632 if you need further info. Hope you are having a great start to 2020 and will try and provide more regular updates this year !!....here are a few photos and artworks currently on offer...plus we have over 1400 other items, glassware, pottery, china, metalware, bells, motorsport items, and other antiques and collectables currently available through our online store...all can be picked up too !!)... See more

23.01.2022 ...another busy month with some real treasures going to new homes over the last month...and you'd think that means we have more room...apparently not, as there have been 3 more estates to clear during that time and feels like my office is being set up for a series of 'Hoarders Buried Alive'. Most of our larger items over the last few months have been listed/ sold through Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree due to them being local pickup as we are slowly phasing out larger items... due to the space they take-up between sales. If you are ever looking for particular items, happy for you to email or call me on 041982363 as it's almost impossible to show the whole range on here with over 1200 listings at any given time, and it changes constantly. For those setting up a man cave, bar, cafe, etc...we currently have a lot of vintage bar pottery, old empty glass bottles/decanters, ashtrays, Kaiser Stuhl pottery, steins, stemmed glassware...let us know what you're after and I'll send pictures... In the meantime, check out some of these 'buried treasures' that sold from mid September to now....

16.01.2022 ...we've had a few inquiries about the walnut inlaid box with bottles...here is some further info as per our online store listing ($690)...a similar one recently sold for $750: "Beautiful, old inlaid featured wood box with hinged lid, rounded lid edges, front key hole (**no key or lock mechanism**) and lid design have a 'mother-of-pearl' trim. The inside lid is lined with a purple velvet-like fabric and compartments hold 6 glass bottles/jars, all with lids (3 cut glass, 3 si...lver-tone metal). There is a 'hidden' pull out, divided drawer or tray in the bottom which slides out when the small knob mechanism on the inside edge is pulled up and also lined with purple fabric. There are remnants of a green hessian-like fabric under the base, but has worn off in sections (see photos). This is part of an estate, estimated to be mid to late 1800s. Manufacturer and origin unknown, wood is possibly walnut but unable to confirm. Measures approximately 31cm long x 23.5 wide x 17.5cm high Condition of the item is "GOOD" for its age (around 150 years old). There is no key or lock mechanism (appears to have been removed). There are a few fissures or cracks around the front / back rounded lid edges and other areas, splits around one of the back hinges (see close up photos). Inside lining of lid and 'hidden drawer' is in reasonable condition, green fabric under the base is worn and some areas missing. Glass bottles/jars in good order, they have not been cleaned and have residue inside. Lids are all removable, glass stoppers are good, few little nibbles around the tops, tarnish on the bottles/jars with silver-tone lids.

16.01.2022 ....it's been a busy few months since our last post in June....and thank you to our customers for their continued support during these times. We continue to provide postage/courier options for the majority of our items, and can provide contactless and/or safe pickups mostly for larger items (or smaller items if that suits) from Colonel Light Gardens (by arrangement). Over the next couple of days, we will post up various 'categories' for items of similar interests. Curren...tly there are around 1800 listings on offer...most available through our ebay online store and prices showing include postage/courier to anywhere in Australia (with the exception of large artworks). Here are a few listings in the following categories: Motorsport Collectables, Tools, Horse Racing Memorabilia, Football and other Sporting Memorabilia, Tobacco and Barware Collectables, Mens Gifts, and a few others....

15.01.2022 ...just wanted to say a BIG thank you for supporting local business during this very trying time for us all. Whilst our local pickup of larger items and overseas postage slowed down during April/May, it has been quite busy for online sales all over Australia. It has been a good chance also, to sort through a few of the last lingering estates and get them listed on our ebay store. We currently have over 1600 items listed, including hundreds of old photos, postcards and cabi...net cards dating from 1800s to mid 1900s, a ton of vintage china and glass (also green/uranium), old metalware, barware, Holden team posters, tobacciana, wooden tribal items, ephemera, theatre and movie memorabilia, antique and vintage books + magazines, a few vintage fashion accessories...and so much more. Here's a few samples of items currently listed for purchase (all prices showing include postage with tracking anywhere in Australia): stores.ebay.com.au/buriedtreasures1001 ...feel free to email us directly for inquiries or if you are looking for something specific (as messages get a little lost on this page !!!): [email protected] See more
