25.01.2022 One of our Next Step Dandenong participants has been working on a weekly meal plan and shopping list to assist him to save money and also grown his independence. He is really excited.

24.01.2022 One of the Dandenong Next Step Participants has been keeping up with his exercise by getting out for a walk. Buddy and Luna (the dogs) were so excited to go for a walk today with Brayden but it wasnt without some drama. Luna decided she had enough of walking and got out of her collar and made her own way home. Brayden enjoyed getting out for some fresh air but remembered to be safe and wear masks.

23.01.2022 Lest we forget. Today the participants at Next Step Dandenong have worked on a Remembrance Day poster. They talked about what Remembrance Day is and what words they think of when they hear it. The whole site took part in a minute of silence while 'The Ode' was readout.

22.01.2022 Participants at Blackburn Next Step have been working on their cooking skills on Wednesdays. This was the first attempt at lemonade scones. For the next act, they made them disappear.

21.01.2022 Today the Wednesday cooking group at Next Step Blackburn started their journey to find the perfect pancake! We started with blueberry pancakes, yum! One of the families even showed us how to flip pancakes in the pan like you see chefs do on TV! Very cool!

15.01.2022 Due to current restrictions one of our Dandenong Next Step Participants, is unable to work, so he reached out to Dandenong staff to get back involved with Zoom and some 1:1 sessions. A nearly 6km walk to start things off and lots of planning. Amazing work.

13.01.2022 When life gives you Lemons, you make Lemon slice. Thank to Braydens clever Mum for her great recipe and guidance, Brayden helped make a biscuit base with shortbread, butter, and condensed milk. He then mixed icing sugar and fresh homegrown lemons together for the topping. Looks delicious.

11.01.2022 This week some of the Dandenong participants join in on a presentation from Deb, Alex, and Aaron from VEC (Victorian Electoral Commission) who conducted a presentation on the upcoming election and how they can all get involved and have their say. VEC are long time friends of the Dandenong site and are always friendly, informative, and give a great presentation and make us feel more confident in understanding what voting means and how it can impact our lives. 11.01.2022 One of our Next Step Dandenong participants has been enjoying some of the sunshine we have had in the last few weeks, he has been working on weeding and sweeping in the yard. Also finding some worms and skinks, then some pool to finish off a very productive day.
