22.01.2022 BURLEIGH MENS SHED XMAS 2017 We have crafty carvers, bread board makers and those who make toys Some work on projects and make oddments, just like all boys.... Mostly though, it’s a ‘come together’, to be active and share skills. The friendship and fun helps one forget any ills. Though we have worked many Bunnings barbecues Some can cook cakes and scones they wear many shoes. Just a bunch of fine fellas keeping well out of strife While giving quality downtime to a long-patient wife. Seasons Greetings go out to one and all Next year to gather at our Woodwork Meeting Hall MERRY XMAS AND LOOKING FORWARD TO A HAPPY NEW YEAR A.W. Esq.
21.01.2022 A huge thank you to Burleigh Men’s shed and Don for helping Lylah to become more independent at home. Lylah is diagnosed with Arthrogryposis which means that her joints are stiffer and she needs modified equipment for mobility and access. She uses a power wheelchair for outdoor mobility and indoors at home she walks on her knees. Lylah’s goal for this year is to be able to access her toilet at home as independently as possible, without anyone having to lift her. Men’s shed made this possible by designing and building a bathroom access ramp and fitted platform for Lylah’s home.
