20.01.2022 Sad but necessary news.,.
18.01.2022 To any parents out there feeling overwhelmed about this week’s challenge to home school; It’s going to be ok. We’ll continue to love our children and do what we can to keep them happy and healthy. Schools will be working hard to deliver the curriculum in different ways to meet the needs of every child. Lessons will be tweaked and simplified to be easily understood by students at home. The OneNote issues will be ironed out. ... Teachers adore our children and know the pressure that parents are feeling. They will be flexible and understanding and considerate that we can’t recreate school at home. They will be missing the connection that they have with their students each day at school and hoping for a way to find it through remote learning. Our remote learning days at home won’t need to be 6 hours long. They’ll be little chunks of time that we carve out in between our own work, and toddler sleep times and urgent phone calls. They’ll be a Year 6 English lesson at the dining table and a Prep Maths lesson on the lounge room floor. They’ll be a big brother helping a little sister while Dad is in a phone conference. But that will be ok. Teachers have never taught like this either. They’ll find it confronting to hear their own voices in videos or to film themselves doing a science experiment. They’ve never taught with parents in the classroom, and now they’re teaching inside our homes. They’ll need our understanding and compassion as much as we need theirs. Let’s be there for each other, let’s make relationships between schools and families the strongest they have ever been. Let’s make mistakes and figure them out and laugh about them together. Let’s make sure that we are filled with compassion and empathy, remembering that this is not a situation that we all would have chosen, but that it is going to be ok, and that we are in it together. As for us the P&C if we can be of any social or informative support to any families please let us know. We’re all in the same boat but together we will get through this and be all the better for it. - Ralph, Teresa, Kris, Sunny

We are doing a lot of reading I feel that my daughter is still learning and we are lowering our stress levels. Other parents are making use ABC 23. If you have any other activities... that we can use please share and comment below I would like to thank all our wonderful teachers and all staff at BHSS for everything you are doing we appreciate you Take care everyone Kind regards Sunny Nath P&C Treasurer
