19.01.2022 Accounting for Nature Workshop Staff from Burnett Mary Regional Group, Goondicum Pastoral Co and Burnett Catchment Care Association have recently completed the ...first Accounting for Nature workshop in the Burnett Mary region. Presented by Adrian Ward, CEO of Accounting for Nature (AFN), and Peter Cosier, Chair of Accounting for Nature, the event was tailored to help attendees understand and build the skills to implement the AFN Framework. The Framework endeavours to measure and gain independent verification and certification for environmental co-benefits and improvements in natural capital (e.g. native vegetation, soil health, fauna and water quality). BMRG is excited to host another set of workshops for the region, which occur over two half-day blocks. The next workshop will occur on the 10th and 11th of November. The data gathered by citizen scientists will inform the protection and enhancement of crucial koala habitats, population diversity and recovery efforts. It will also contribute to better to understanding koala distribution, presence, activity and habitat healt...h in our beautiful region & catchment.
