25.01.2022 To all Band Burnie Concert Band members. The restrictions that Government agencies have placed on society as we cope with the Covid-19 pandemic mean that all "communal" band rehearsals and performances have to be postponed indefinitely. Sadly, the BCB committee has no option but to adhere to these restrictions. Any decision regarding when we restart can only be made after relevant Government restrictions have been lifted. The committee encourages all members to do what prac...tice they can in the comfort of their own home. David and Kathleen have already been preparing some online resources. If there is anything that you would find useful to you to facilitate your practice, please contact David or Kathleen as appropriate. You may have ideas that we haven't thought of. Please spread this information widely amongst your BCB friendship group. Despite our best efforts, our usual communication channels are unlikely to be 100% effective, so please pass this on by any means that are appropriate to you. Please also check your email regularly for band emails, as this will be our primary method of communication over this time. Regards, Robert Fifield [President], Kathleen Matthews & David Turner [Musical Directors] See more

13.01.2022 Our Junior program starts this Thursday 20/2 at Cooee Memorial Hall. For brand new and beginning musicians in the Junior Learners Band, there is a Come and Try Day at 4.45pm. This is a great opportunity to learn about the instruments in a concert band and try some of them out. Our Junior Band rehearsals resume this Thursday at 6pm. This band is for young people up to 18 years of age with some musical experience. We would love to see new players in both groups. Come along to either session to see what we do.
