25.01.2022 This weekend we have some exciting things happening with the Burnie Shines! This Saturday there will be a KITE MAKING WORKSHOP at the Burnie High School assembly hall Times: 10.30 12.30 and/or 1.00 3.00... And on Sunday there will be KITE FLYING at the Burnie High School oval (weather dependent) Times: 10.30 2.30 We would love support from our fellow Guides youth members at both these events



23.01.2022 With all we've been busy doing at guides lately, we were too busy to keep our page updated! Now we are at home, expect a little spam from us. These photos are from Niamh's survival camp last year. It was so good, everybody has been begging for another!

14.01.2022 Last year in July, we went on a big outting to Hobart. We went to Evolvo escaoe room, I've skating, mini golf and Gang Show, among other things. It was an awesome bonding experience for our unit.

13.01.2022 Jeedara Guides have been very busy lately, with a movie night, service with Samaritans Purse boxes and donations for the Kmart wishing tree and kayaking as our end of year break up. Hopefully everything goes well in 2018

12.01.2022 Burnie Jeedara Guides has grown! This year we were able to have a presence at the Regatta in Snug. This was held in the March long weekend, and the girls had a blast! We also had guides going along to the Relay for Life the following weekend and walking a collective 217 laps.

08.01.2022 And finally, a look back at other things we have done. We celebrated Niamh's 18th birthday, practiced knot tying and participated in so many programmes, including McKinley and her brother teaching us and the Naroomas some Taekwondo. We also made rafts down at the Cam River from wood, rope and tyres, and tested them out! Moderate success

07.01.2022 Last year, our Unbirthday party was celebrated as a murder mystery night, circus themed. The food was good and the reveals dramatic. In the end, McKinley as the ringmaster left and returned a ghost, white face and all! Lakeesha the clown was her killer

07.01.2022 Narooma Guides accompanied the Jeedaras to a fairy-tale murder mystery night! The girls had to dress up and play as their acquired character and were given dialog they had to speak. Everyone looked great and did well!

04.01.2022 On the 18th/19th of August, girls from all over the coast gathered at the Burnie Girl Guide Hall. An overnight stay was held for Mullala and Winter Sleepout. McKinley slept outside in a box to raise money for YFCC Burnie before helping run some different science activities for the girls at Mullala. The thing we heard the most Saturday night was "Its cold!"

02.01.2022 Last night the girls were scientists! McKinley ran a science night for her Queens Guide Award Interest. The girls make plastic from milk as well as sugar crystals. IN THE DARK!! To celebrate Earth Hour, they heated everything using gas stoves and lit the room with candles.
