24.01.2022 We have many patients who try to treat themselves by "cracking" joints, with self-massage, and by overstretching and pulling on their muscles and joints. There are several reasons why the wrong self-care is wrong for you: 1. Cracking your neck and back yourself is counterproductive. The reason patients have the feeling that thy want to crack their spine is usually because there is an area that is immobile or too tight. Whenever there is an area if immobility, however, ther...e is usually an area of hypermobility, or an area thats too loose. So when a patient tries to release an area of tightness by cracking their necks or backs, theyre usually causing the loose joint to move instead. This creates even more hypermobility, which loosens ligaments, destabilizes the joints and makes the patient susceptible to calcification of the soft tissue around the joints, which may leas to Osteoarthritis. 2. Pulling joints and muscles by over stretching can aggravate and existing problem or even a heathy joint. Stretch once or twice after a warm up or after exercise. Be specific with your stretch routine and dont over do it or hold the stretches for too long. If you ae having issues such as above, call in and talk to Ron. We could help you!

Massage services are provided Monday to Friday from 7.45am to 6.30pm by appointment. Reception is open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm.... 19.01.2022 After attending a very informative Soft Tissue Therapy Congress Ron is now set to attend a "follow on" course on Functional Release Cupping to be held in Melbourne in the next few weeks. Its always good to keep abreast of new or different modalities in massage to keep improving as there are always new things to learn. It pays to keep an open mind on the different types of treatments available and the only way to see if they would work and be effective in your practice is t...o learn and try them. So watch this space to see what the outcome of the course is and if it is something Ron will use in the his clinic in the future.

17.01.2022 Due to the current COV19 we have decided to temporarily cease trading in a bid to help stop the spread of this virus. We do have a lot of at risk clients and would rather "err on the side of caution" on this matter rather than potentially put someone at risk.
