22.01.2022 REC-SPECT IS LIVE RECSPECT is our new Red Earth City (REC) independent reporting system. RECSPECT will expand our transparency and allow our community to speak up about any concerns that they may have about the Red Earth City organisation, events, Board, Town Council, Committees, volunteers, contractors or fellow Burners.... It's anonymous (if you want it to be), totally independent and professional. Find out more at the link.

09.01.2022 Dear Community, COVID has been challenging for us all. We will not be running an in-person event - Seed is just too large and unacceptably risky. Nor will we host a digital event, instead we’re collaborating with Burning Man’s Multiverse and encouraging everyone to put their energies into this space.... During this difficult period, and without the delivery of an event to focus our energies, some of our most experienced volunteers have left the organisation. Volunteers are essential to our organisation - their loss is a blow. But after every fire, there is regrowth. Our Restructure Committee has continued to meet and progress their important work. Burning Seed and the Red Earth City Board remain committed to a restructure and a transition to a member-driven, elected and not-for-profit entity wholly owned by you our community. This change is essential and a clear recommendation from our community consultation. Due to the complexity, more time will be needed to achieve this. We will keep you updated as it progresses and post updates from Restructure team on our new website. Oh yeah, about that! We’ve got a shiny new website. The old site was getting pretty overgrown. We’ve archived it and we’ll be gradually migrating material over. Check it out: www.burningseed.com The ongoing work of restructure and the new site are part of the start of our regrowth. We know Burning Seed and our community will regrow because we all share the same vision: to gather again in person stronger than ever and celebrate. And there are good reasons to be optimistic for an event in 2022. So if you want to bring that vision alive, get in touch. We have volunteer positions that adapt to your availability and suit all skills. You can find some of the most essential roles that need filling to make 2022 happen on the site. In the meantime, we want to support any micro-burns and theme camp events. Keep carrying the torch for us until we can return. You can submit events to the calendar on our new website. 07.01.2022 The Burning Seed Temple will be live from 8.45pm tonight! If you are within the virtual event, you'll find the Temple icon on the Paddock, and also linked in a banner at the top of the page. Pop in and reserve your seat in the virtual auditorium! All messages sent in were printed and placed in The Temple and here you can see some of our Temple crew adding their own messages. For those not in the virtual event but wanting to watch, we will post the YouTube Live streaming link here just before 8.45pm.
06.01.2022 Important Burning Seed Announcement Dear community. We know that we have been gone for some time, but we want to answer the big question on everyone’s lips: Is Burning Seed 2021 going ahead? After many meetings and discussions, the decision has been made by the Town Council to NOT hold a physical Burning Seed event in 2021. There are a number of reasons for this decision. These include the ongoing uncertainty around Covid-19 and the desire to protect the local communities aro...und Matong from a large number of people, as well as the inability to obtain cancellation insurance. While we know that many other events and festivals are being planned in 2021, an event of our size is just too risky. And unfortunately it's not as simple as reducing the participant numbers, because a large amount of money is spent on infrastructure and services prior to the event - the majority of which would be non-refundable. On top of this, we also have a lack of volunteers in the organisation. We had many people step away for personal reasons during 2020 (it was a tough year for us all), and we also had a large number of key people resign from key positions within Seed, as well as from groups such as the restructure committee. These people took a wealth of knowledge with them. We will be addressing this and answering some of your questions around the future of Burning Seed in a separate post over the coming weeks. So what's on the cards for 2021? Well, there are some different options. We may hold a digital burn as we did in 2020, and it is likely that micro burns will be organised by various local burner groups. The Town Council will be discussing these options with theme camp leads, entities and other members of the community. If you wish to contribute in any way, shape or form please have a chat with your fellow participants, theme camp leads or any other entity you may be a part of. The one thing that everyone agrees upon is that when the Burning Seed gathering happens again, the community will be there - stronger and more determined than ever before. The one thing that's not going away is the larger community of participants, which is you. Burn Bright )'(
