04.01.2022 Dear BPS Community, I have some exciting news to share as well as a request for your input, please. In 2022 our school will include LOTE (Language other than English) into our curriculum. But which language you ask? As you can imagine this is a big decision that will take several factors into consideration including:... Feedback from our community Ability to find an excellent teacher with language and teaching skills aligned to our needs. It is in regards to the first point above, that I invite you to please provide your input by way of this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GTWLCPB The survey will close on Friday 29th October. As you will see there are four languages up for consideration. (See attached for further information) These have been selected because: they are spoken across the world in many countries, continents and for international business and trade they are the main language spoken in countries situated in our region, and as neighbours to Australia they have economic and cultural significance they are taught in neighbouring high schools so can be pursued through senior education they are not a native language to a large ethnic group at the school, offering all students an opportunity to grow their understanding at a similar pace, together. A couple of points to note - I appreciate that perhaps none of the four languages appeals to you as a family or you would like us to consider another language. This is a challenging task to meet everyone's preferences and ultimately it will be up to the Principal team to decide and plan our workforce appropriately. I hope you join me in feeling excited about this new step forward for our young school. Thank you in advance for your input. All the best Davide & Katy
