19.01.2022 Storm Alerts on School Stream and Facebook During the storm season, we will share any storm warnings we receive through the Bureau of Meteorology on School Stream and Facebook. This is a proactive way to keep you informed around the weather conditions we may be expecting or experiencing here at Nambour. Many parents work away from the area, and others have informed us that they do not access the BOM website. Our sharing of this information is not an indicator of the school be...ing closed or the need for you to pick up your child/ren early from school. If we feel there is a need for early pick up, we will add this information into the alert. Please do not assume that we want your children collected. If there is a storm cell near our school at pick up time, please note that our first responsibility is to your child’s safety, and as such, children may be required to stay in classrooms until it is safe for them to be released. If you come to the school and are worried about a storm, you are more than welcome to shelter in the Administration Block or in your child’s classroom. Remember, ‘If it is flooded, forget it’.

18.01.2022 Hamper donations In 2019, our student council lead an initiative, asking families to donate non-perishable food items, to be made into hampers that were shared with members of the community who were not as fortunate. Feedback was very positive, and the intent was to make this a regular part of our Term 4 calendar. Sadly, covid put a stop to this last year. While we understand that the past 18 months have been difficult for everyone, we believe that reminding students on the i...mportance of giving, is a vital message at this time of the year. Starting in Week 5, we will be asking families to donate good for our 2021 hampers. Food donations, we be collected by our student council each Friday morning before school in the Tuck Shop area. Week 5 Friday the 5th of November Tinned items Week 6 Friday the 12th of November Savoury items Week 7 Friday the 19th of November Something sweet Week 8 Friday the 26th of November Celebration

14.01.2022 School Watch We love our school and want to come back after the holidays knowing that our school is safe and ready for learning. During this period empty schools provide an opportunity for criminal activity, becoming targets for unlawful entry, arson, stealing, graffiti and property damage all of which become a cost to the community.... The School Watch Program is a partnership between Education Queensland, the Queensland Police Service and the State Government Protective Security Service. It aims to reduce criminal activity in Queensland schools and encourages everyone to look out for after-hours crime in our schools. If you see anything suspicious, please don’t attempt to intervene. Call the School Watch number 13 17 88 Let’s work together to help create safer school communities.
