02.01.2022 BORDER CLOSURE UPDATE NSW Police have advised that permit holders will now be required to produce proof of identity (including residential address) during each ...border crossing into NSW. This validation process has slowed the passage of vehicles over George Chaffey Bridge. During this morning’s peak period (6-30am to 10-00 am), traffic was backed up along San Mateo Avenue and Seventh Street, with crossings taking over 30 minutes. The next peak period (3-00pm 6-00pm) is likely to be equally challenging. In the very near future, Defence Force personnel will by assisting NSW Police at the border crossing which will hopefully improve times taken to process traffic. WHAT CAN YOU DO! If you don’t need to travel to NSW in peak periods, don’t’. When you arrive at the border, all vehicle occupants should have their permit and licence (or other form of identification) ready for inspection. Consider placing your permit and licence into a clear zip-lock bag so you are not juggling them at the border crossing. If you can arrange flexible work arrangements (earlier or later start time), do so. Avoid the bridge area (San Mateo Avenue, Seventh Street etc) if you are not intending to cross. WHAT WE ARE DOING! Traffic restrictions will again be imposed at Seventh Street round-a-bout during peak periods: Weekdays from 6-30am to 10-00am Weekdays from 3-00pm to 6-00pm All trucks must turn left. Cars will not be permitted to turn right. Variable Message Boards will alert you to these changes as you approach the round-a-bout. We will also deploy police to the Seventh Street round-a-bout to assist in traffic movement. A REMINDER! You reminded that the Abbotsford Bridge, Yelta is now open for business (both ways). This morning, traffic flows over the Abbotsford Bridge were very manageable. We will continue to keep you updated. KEEP SAFE

01.01.2022 Well its almost that time of the year again. This year our Santa run will be slightly different (in the theme of 2020) BUT it will take place, with a few minor changes. Further details will be published closer to the date
