25.01.2022 Exciting to see construction underway on the redevelopment of Victoria’s State Basketball Centre, a project that will take the game to a new level for elite and community players.When complete, the new facility will house a total of 18 indoor courts and include a new, modern gymnastics facility. Set to open its doors in 2023, the centre will host up to two million visitors a year. 21.01.2022 At a time when our emergency services have never been under more pressure, we are proud to be seeing the completion of the Emergency Services Memorial in Treasury Gardens. We were engaged by @rush.wright.associates to develop the graphics and signage for this special project. An intervention into the classically designed Treasury Gardens in Melbourne, the EMS Memorial is a multi-sensory experiential garden. A place for the families and communities of lost emergency ser...vices personnel, a place of quiet contemplation, recognition and reflection. Hand crafted bronze name plaques and glass signage sit quietly amongst the raw stone, ferns and ethereal mist. 19.01.2022 Our Sydney studio took a little trip to Hyde Park Barracks yesterday, which has just re-opened as an incredible public museum. The exhibition is an immersive experience featuring visual art, lighting, digital projection, verbal storytelling and historical artefacts. The narrative is told in three main chapters; Control, Fear and Hope which are also divided by the three distinct levels of the building. There is also a beautiful artwork done by the Wiradjuri artist Jonathan... Jones which welcomes you upon entry to the site. 09.01.2022 The custom icon package we developed for Melbourne Airport @Melb ourneairportau echo the citys rectilinear grid and architectural language, with bold forms that convey the meaning behind each pictogram. The icons are designed to complement and extend the bespoke signage typeface, Transfer, giving a distinct visual character to the wayfinding signage. We worked to make sure the icons are representative of the diverse passengers at the airport, while also being highly legible across printed, physical, and digital mediums. #wayfinding #pictograms #signagedesign #userexperiencedesign

09.01.2022 This Büro North designed Christmas Trees is 8 years old, and has just been assembled from its flat packed state. The design was assessed as being better than a real cut tree, with less embodied energy after 5 years use, so at 8 years old and looking as fresh as a daisy this one is killing it. The BN XTrees won a Premiers Design Award for sustainable product design, based on the Life Cycle Assessment we did with RMIT of the energy, water and carbon footprint for fresh-cut Christmas Trees versus our Water-Jet cut flatpack trees. #melbournedesign

07.01.2022 We have donated much needed funds to the @redcrossau National Bushfire Appeal thanks to this generous team. Funds that normally go towards staff Christmas presents have instead been given to those in dire need of assistance. People who have lost everything over the last few weeks. This environmental catastrophe effects so many people including property owners, fire-fighters and volunteers. Not to mention the wildlife and forests that have been destroyed. Its incredibly sad and we thank organisations like the Red Cross for stepping in where the federal Government has failed to acknowledge and support this crisis. #teamwork #designteam #goodcause
