10.01.2022 What a turn out Beechworth!

07.01.2022 Thank-you from the bottom of our hearts Beechworth, for your support, strength, efforts, donations and general love for #burpeesforbrainsurgery We have been overwhelmed by the response and generosity of this community. People got hard at it and burpeed for the cause, even though they suck, because #burpeessuckbutbraincancersucksmore Even when a very generous local man put a $1000 cheque on the table on the proviso it be cashed in by burpees, people jumped in a did every singl...e one of those 1000! What community spirit! Sarah and Andrew are beyond grateful. They arrived in the afternoon yesterday to the event directly from Sydney after Sarahs surgery. It was so beautiful to see her there and doing well. A sweet reminder of why we were all there. It was such a fun day thanks to you, the community. Congratulations to everybody for their massive burpee efforts. It was amazing to see people really challenge themself for the cause. So many people really surprised themselves and did so much more than they expected . There are too many people and Sponsors to thank, but a couple that we need to mention that just made the fundraiser what is was and supported us from the very beginning are: Bridge Road Brewers Beechworth & District Community Bank Branch the amazing Rikki and Lex with their Beechworth Music Festival caravan.....honestly Lex nailed the tunes and absolutely set the vibe of the day, and of course last, but certainly not least Beechworth Fitness! We still havent done the final tally, but its up well over the $30,000 mark! Amazing! Such a big help to this gorgeous family. Thank-you, hugs and love Rachel, Hayley and Jane

04.01.2022 Saturdays Beechworth Extravangaza was such a beaut event! Our local Beechworth Secondary College students hosted a super engaging, friendly, creative, fun even...t for all of community. From live theatre performances and live music, to robotics displays, to a chill out room with mindfulness exercises, games, and a gratitude tree, to art displays in the Old Gaol cells, to food stalls selling baked potatoes, chocolate mousse, a big bbq, tea and coffee, soda drinks and more. The event crew managed to raise $1000 for Burpees for Brain Cancer and entertained/fed over 200 community members, all whilst keeping the event plastic wise and waste minimal. Big thanks to the Old Gaol Beechworth for letting us host the extravaganza in your amazing space, to Sal from Taste Trekkers for mentoring our caterers in the lead up to the event and a big shout to the Beechworth Community for coming out in such great numbers. I had a lot of fun mentoring this crew in all things event management and working alongside awesome BSC Art and Tech Coordinator Nina Machielse Hunt. Beechworth Secondary should be super proud of themselves. Cheers, Sal (Youth Officer, Indigo Shire) See more

01.01.2022 Our darling Sarah is on her way to Sydney for surgery. She is so grateful for all the support, words and money raised so far. It doesnt stop here, she still needs to be cared for and there are still lots of medical bills. So while she is up there fighting for her life, we remain here helping her get the means to be able to do so. So please keep donating, sponsoring, registering and come along to Baarmutha park in Beechworth on Saturday 27th from 10am. Thank-you to everyone ...who has supported Sarahs cause This gorgeous photo was taken by Lucy from embark photography in Beechworth recently of Sarah and her family. Lucy donated her time and services to their family as a wonderful keepsake for them. Lucy is amazing at capturing beautiful, natural pictures of families in our gorgeous surrounds.
