25.01.2022 Hi members The Queensland government has launched a campaign linking with Queensland superstars to start getting local club athletes ready for return to play. It’s called Boost Your Healthy.... If you’d like to engage your athletes in the #BoostCampQLD they’ll see their heroes posting challenges to do and get into the zone before coming back. All sports will be represented. The first we had at the launch were boxing rep presented by Jeff the Hornet Horn and Gretel Bueta. Jeff’s challenge is up now, Gretel’s comes next And for those of us not at peak fitness, there’s the Billion Steps Challenge and others! https://hw.qld.gov.au/boostyourhealthy/

21.01.2022 2020 season Good Evening Jets Family, I hope that you have all been well in this very uneasy time that we call 2020. As things start to return to some form of 'normality'. We are learning very quickly that our new norm is very different to what once was. Rugby League is no different. Just as we think we have information to move forward the state government moves the goal posts and restarts the game.... The club has been working hard behind the scenes to inform ourselves on all factors so that the best decision moving forward for 2020 is made for our club, players, sponsors, members and volunteers. Could you please assist us by completing the survey below. (you will need to copy the link into your search bar or access through our Facebook page) https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Y7L957B Thank you for taking the time to help you club help you. 16.01.2022 This morning I met with Yash the owner of subway in Burpengary. Yash has gifted the club $1700 worth of vouchers to be distributed throughout the club this season. It was wonderful to see all of the precautionary measures that have been implement to ensure customer safety. Although Yash has seen a 25% decrease in sales over the last few weeks he continues to hire local staff and provide a high standard of product and customer service.... Thank you Subway Burpengary for your 5 years of support to the Jets and our local community.

13.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week is celebrated from 27 May to 3 June every year. To mark the beginning of National Reconciliation Week, the #BJJRLFC would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of the land on which it works and plays, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We also acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people involved in our great game. We recognise that discovery, truth, and reconciliation is a shared journey where we acknowledge and celebrate each other’s differences. #NRW2020 #InThisTogether2020

13.01.2022 BREAKING: Here's our back to school plan for Queensland students. Students in Kindy, Prep, Year 1, Year 11 and Year 12 will return to school on May 11, while students in Years 2 to 10 will continue remote learning at home. We will review the situation on May 15, with the goal to return the remaining students on May 25 if low COVID-19 transmission rates continue.... Children of essential workers and vulnerable children are still able to attend school. A sensible and gradual return is only possible because of Queensland’s success in slowing the spread of COVID-19. Compare our efforts to what has happened in other parts of the world and Queenslanders should feel very proud. Keep up the good work! #coronavirus

04.01.2022 For me today it is a celebration and a time for reflection. Being a community member of Burpengary for 19 years now (nearly half my life) I have been honoured t...o be involved at the Burpengary Jets for 11 years. Four of those leading a group of amazing volunteers, Co-ordinating rugby league opportunities for young people, growing the club with new facilities, sponsors, and families. My love for Rugby League, our community, development of young men and women and shared understanding and learnings spread to coaches, mentors and leaders of all young people that have passed through our club and/or continue to play within the Jets family has been my greatest achievement and memories that will stay with me for a lifetime. It is time that the club now grows through new leadership and dedicated volunteers to a new level as my time has come to an end. A decision I have made with the best interest of the club at the forefront of my decision. The club and its members deserve to have the opportunity to continue to scaffold and develop to the next levels of progression. Thank you for trusting me, thank you for allowing me to grow and thank you for working alongside me to build strong foundations for generations to come. I look forward to welcoming the new committee tonight at our AGM. APRIL .. See more

02.01.2022 Hello to the Jets Family. There has been some enquires in relation to fees. I ask at this time of uncertainty that all payment of fees be placed on hold. As per the most updated release of information from the QRL the season has been placed on hold until the first weekend of May. At this time it is important that we care for ourselves, our families and neighbours.... Be active parts of our community outside the Jets fields offering support to the elderly and volunteer were you can. Footy will return it's just a matter of when. April Cooke Club President
