25.01.2022 The Burpengary Scout Group would like to thank The Caboolture Sports Club for the financial support they have provided us through their Caboolture Sports Club Community Chest Fund. The money received went towards bus hire and resources to deliver an Environment program for our Cub Scouts. Our Cubs participated in a Clean Up Australia Day activity in and around Old Petrie town in our District of Murrumba and afterwards taken to the Caboolture Waste Management Facility to see what happens to all that rubbish they collected. As part of an ongoing program, Scouts often participate and get involved with recycling and how we can care for our environment.

21.01.2022 It has been a couple of years now that we have moved into our new den. Over 4 years of volunteer time to construct and fit out the shed, to make it our Den. There were many, many people involved in the construction and we have not formally acknowledged their donations of time, materials or assistance over that time. Below are the many companies involved in one way or another during construction. If you know any of these companies, please tag them so they can get recognition f...or their efforts. In turn, please consider using the services of these companies where possible to support our local businesses. Caboolture Garages Burpengary Pony Club Inc. Bunnings North Lakes Wamuran Timbers Bush Sparkes Electrical Wet Seal Caboolture Cr Peter Flannery Foodworks Burpengary Bunnings Morayfield Roof Space Renovators Brian Masters - Former Group Leader Stephen Watterson - Lincom Trevor Latham - Terdanator Plumbing Peter Berry - FSA Consulting Engineers Scott Masters - Moreton Bay Service Location Cathy Butter - Innovative Project Services. 21.01.2022 Much like every organisation, business and household, Scouting has also been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Scouting is all about adventure and getting outdoors. Although many of us staying safe in our own homes, Burpengary Scout Group continue to deliver the Scouting program to all our Scouts. Our Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers are all still participating in modified versions of our program. To achieve this our Sections are meeting regularly via ZOOM and Faceb...ook. It's amazing what our Youth Members can come up with and apply to technologies that they are used to. Our different age groups have participated in craft and colour ins provided by our Leaders and cooked meals that they would normally do at camp. Some youth have been lucky enough to cook a meal on a fire at home too. There has been trivia contests, construction challenges and formal dinners. The challenge for our youth is how to adapt and be creative. Meanwhile still working on their individual badge work. Our next challenge is to hold a Group Camp for all our youth members. To achieve this each youth member will pitch a tent, make an improvised shelter (yes, just like survivor) make a cubby or sleepover in the lounge room. Each campsite needs to be creative and there'll be a prize for each section's best camp. We'll post our best camps here after next weekend. Our Leaders are doing a great job under the circumstances delivering exciting and challenging programs for our youth. It's a great opportunity to still be involved in Scouting. As our founder said, Be Prepared. See more

19.01.2022 Notice that the Annual Report Presentation 2020 for Burpengary Scout Group will be at the Den, 7 David Street Burpengary on Sunday 19th July, 2020 at 10am. Social distancing will be observed and all adult members are invited to attend.

18.01.2022 There is no doubt we are in an environment none of us could have foreseen. Groups, businesses, clubs, and sports are shutting down and postponing events by the hour. I’m sure we all agree that the School and Education system must not be far away either. For that reason, after consultation with Leaders and the Group Committee, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all activities, meeting nights, camps and hikes effective immediately. Isolation and delay of any non-esse...ntial activities have been advised by the Queensland Government and Health Professionals. These cancellations will be determined over time dependant on Government regulations relating to the spread of COVID19. As we can appreciate in many cases, this will affect all Youth members and their advancement in the Youth Program. We will work closely with each Unit to ensure we can still provide Scouting that each Youth member can complete at home. This will be monitored closely with each section Leader. Scouts Queensland has offered assistance to all groups in the form of activities and programs also. At this time the Group Leaders and Committee would like to thank you for your cooperation in this matter, please take the time to stay safe with your families.

10.01.2022 Burpengary Scout Group recently held an isolation Group Camp in the youth members own backyards. Each section was represented from Joeys, Cubs, Scouts Venturers and Rovers. Our Leaders also got involved. The camp was themed to be creative and adventurous. Meals were cooked on open fires, camp gas stoves or inside in the kitchen. The Group held a virtual campfire on Saturday night via an online meeting. The aim of the weekend was to keep up with Scouting activities whilst in i...solation and practicing social distancing. There were a variety of tents and campsites set up, with some using construction skills building platforms to camp on for the weekend. Burpengary Scout Group have continued to operate during COVID-19 in a virtual capacity, providing Scouting activities and programs for all our sections. We look forward to being able to eventually meet at our den and get back outdoors. See more
