13.01.2022 2020 Burra Picnic Races It is with regret that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Burra Picnic Races. The health, safety and well-being of our community and patrons is paramount, and with continued uncertainty remaining around public gatherings it is impossible to know what the state of play will be come October. ... We wish to thank our wonderful sponsors for their continued support and look forward to welcoming our valued racegoers and competitors back to Thistlebeds Station in October 2021! 10.01.2022 Tomorrow is the big day!! A huge thank you to all of our generous sponsors, without whom this event would not be possible. Since 2015, when the Burra Picnic Races was reinstated, our total donations to the Royal Flying Doctors Service have come to $60,000. We have also established the Burra Picnic Race Club Community Fund, which provides funding and support to local community groups, organisations and projects across the region. Racegoers will enjoy a wide range of events,... from horse racing and gymkhana, to fun family-friendly spectator activities including Fashions on the Field, wheelbarrow races, tug 'o' war, the Fastest Hogget in the East and the famous Lizard Calcutta races. Full catering and bar will be available throughout the day, along with live entertainment into the evening. Stay the night and enjoy breakfast with us in the morning. See you soon!!!
