25.01.2022 Burra Community Library Knitting Group is meeting in the library tomorrow, Friday 28th from 10am. Join in and knit or crochet for local charities or just come along, see what others in your community are making. Light afternoon tea provided.
25.01.2022 Only 2 places left in our Kokedama Workshop for Thursday 27th August 2-3pm. Let us know if you would like to join us. Cost is $10 which includes instruction, bonsai soil, sphagnum moss, string and light afternoon tea. Please bring a plant of your choice e.g. small fern, peace lily, succulent. 23.01.2022 Temporary Library Closure 16/09/20 Apologies for the late notice. We have just been advised this afternoon that the Burra Library & the Burra Community School will be closed to the public tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday 16th September, from 4pm. There will be no access to the school grounds.... McMahon Services will be on site to inspect the Copperhouse building for asbestos. The school and library will be back to normal, opening the following morning, Thursday 17th from 8.30am -6pm as per usual. As of the 25/11/20, Public Libraries SA have thoughtfully extended the loan period for books and audiobooks to 6 weeks, to cover the Christmas holiday period. Onkaparinga Library are hosting this event of behalf of the Public Libraries SA network and it is available to all SA library customers. 03.01.2022 Win a pair of gorgeous hand knitted socks! Maureen Wright will be knitting from one of these amazing balls of patterned sock wool (colour may vary) at the library, Monday 7th September, between 11-12 noon. Call in, have a look, write your name on a lucky square and the soft, warm socks could be yours free. Stay for coffee and a chat to see the pattern develop before your eyes as Maureen knits a plain sock.
