20.01.2022 Congratulations to two talented local artists, Alison Mitchell and Robert 'Alfie' Hannaford, and their respective feature stories in the Saturday Advertiser last week and this week. Alison's exhibition, Unlemon, is now on display at the Botanic Garden's Museum of Economic Botany. The feature article in last weeks Advertiser, SA Weekend, is a good read, and highlighted the Australian Native Lime, and its antibacterial properties showing promise in the fight against huanglongb...ing (HLB, or yellow dragon disease) in lemons, a disease caused by a bacteria spread by the Asiatic citrus psyllid. This weeks Saturday Advertiser features an inside story about Robert Hannaford's new life-size sculpture of the Queen, to be installed in the heart of Adelaide, following a more than half hour sitting at Windsor Castle for Hannaford to sketch the queen in a gold room off the Green Drawing Room. Links to the two articles are below (requires subscription) or can be seen in the Advertiser on Saturday, 21st September, 2020, page 5 of the SA Weekend lift-out (Mitchell), and today, Saturday, 28th November, 2020, page 7 (Hannaford). https://www.adelaidenow.com.au//bb0667ba4afbdc3f927558a772 https://www.adelaidenow.com.au//223a37668ed3eddb4ec9674ffa

19.01.2022 The Burra Heritage Passport, learn about our local history

19.01.2022 Public pool has closed for the next couple of weeks. The on-site pool and spa area at Burra Motor Inn is also closed under this Direction. Following this temporary closure, public swimming pools must still be supervised by a COVID Marshal when in use by the public. As Burra Motor Inn does not have a staff member dedicated to performing this role we are unable to open the indoor pool and spa area.

13.01.2022 When exploring the vast history that can be found within the Goyder region the experience isn’t complete without spending some time with our neighbours in Peterborough. No one does it better than these guys! We love our great region and the wonders that never cease up through Peterborough and Orroroo, the Southern Flinders, and Flinders Ranges regions. Don’t forget to stock up on some of the worlds best wines from the beautiful Clare Valley before you embark on what is sure to be a most memorable experience, an experience not to be missed. With current COVID-19 travel restrictions, what better time than now to explore our great State!!

13.01.2022 SA Health has released an urgent alert for a swathe of locations across Adelaide’s northern suburbs, including bus routes, bus stops, a major shopping centre and an aquadome. Anyone who visited these locations on the dates and times specified should monitor themselves for symptoms but do not need to self-quarantine. They should get tested immediately if symptoms appear.
