23.01.2022 The final Howard Country Market for 2020 is on this Saturday 5th December from 7am till 12noon with lots of stalls (over 100) and plenty of variety. There is something for everybody. If you are a visitor to Howard we recommend that you take the time to visit the lovely local shops like Van Cootens Grocery, Hardware and Toys, Van Cootens Drapery, My Magikal Mess, Howard Butchery, Howard Hot Bread Bakery, Howard Pharmacy and the historic Grand Hotel. The BBS Op Shop will be o...pen as well. Additional parking is available on the corner of Steley and Coal Streets. The Community Centre Canteen will be open as will the drink stall and sausage sizzle. This Saturday Good Life Over 50s RV & Lifestyle Resorts will be in attendance to answer all your questions about the fantastic new development being built in Howard. 18.01.2022 What a great time at last Saturday's Christmas Twilight Market. Thanks to the stall holders, Rent a Rex, Andino the Magician, Affordable Jumping Castles, Debbie with her face painting, Chris and his balloons, Wide Bay Laser Skirmish, Phoebe Jay (our beautiful young talented singer), Therese our wonderful M.C., the gorgeous alpacas, our Aussie Santa with his friends from M.A.C.E., Howard SES, Howard/Torbanlea Firies and Skylighter Fireworks. A huge thank you to Fraser Coast Regional Council and Bruce Saunders MP for Maryborough for their sponsorship. It was worth attending the event just to see Mayor George Seymour and Bruce Saunders on stage with Andino - great performance guys. Thanks to our volunteers and thank you to all the people who attended. We had many more in attendance this year than any previous year.

16.01.2022 Today is the last Howard Market for the year. A huge thank you to Faye Whiffin & the volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the markets is a great success. Due to Parliamentary sittings I am unable to attend. I look forward to attending again in February 2021.
15.01.2022 A reminder to residents of Howard that there will be Fireworks at approximately 8pm this Saturday night at Bellert Park. Please ensure that your domestic animals are secured. A notice to this effect was put in this month's edition of the Burrum River News.

11.01.2022 The Community Centre will close at 2pm on Thursday 10th December and will re-open at 9am on Monday 11th January. As normal, THERE IS NO MARKET IN JANUARY! We wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let's hope that 2021 is kinder to us than 2020 has been. Have a safe season and see you next year.

09.01.2022 For anybody enquiring about a stall for the Christmas Twilight Market all bookings closed last Tuesday. There are lots of great stalls this year as well as great activities for the kids. All rides are only $2 per ride. Please note we are unable to receive or send messages via Facebook.

06.01.2022 Santa is coming to Howard tomorrow afternoon to visit our Christmas Twilight Market which runs from 4pm till 8pm. This specially themed market will have children's activities (all priced at $2 per child per activity), live music with Phoebe Jay, fantastic market stalls, the dinosaurs will be dropping in, canteen, drinks and sausage sizzle stalls will be operating and will conclude with a magnificent fireworks display. Everybody is welcome. Social distancing rules apply and absolutely no alcohol permitted. This market is sponsored by Fraser Coast Regional Council and Bruce Saunders MP - Member for Maryborough. 05.01.2022 Howard Police were again given the privilege to escort Santa into the Howard Christmas Twilight Market. Well done to the staff and volunteers from the Burrum District Community Centre. It was great to see a smile on so many kids faces.
05.01.2022 After being cooped up for months it was amazing to be able to be your entrainment for the night and share the Howard Christmas spirit with a record crowd. It w...as mostly during the fireworks that I had this overwhelming feeling of hope come over me for our future and for humanity as a whole. No matter what hits us we bounce back and support our communities and people like Faye and her amazing team organise fireworks and festivities that we all need after the year we've had. 2020 has been pretty hash to most of us and that's life you know, but it doesn't matter about the parts where we've been down during the year. All that matters is that we got back up and responded in kind and with human joy. Being able to see the children dancing and being happy without a care in the world made me have a realisation. This is why we do this! This is why we put up with life's craziness to see the joy and happiness on our loved one's faces as they lead the way back out of the darkness.
