21.01.2022 Help us to make Coalfest 2021 a festival to remember. Members and non-members welcome to attend the AGM and show your support.

18.01.2022 Regrettably, on the advice of authorities Coalfest 2020 had to be cancelled. Like many similar non-for-profit organisations we took the safety of our patrons and exhibitors very seriously and decided that with the large crowds expected we couldn't guarantee social distancing. But we are determined to be back bigger and better than ever on the third weekend in July 2021. Planning has already commenced. Here is a selection from our photo gallery of past celebrations. Enjoy! See you next year!

15.01.2022 Coalfest committee meeting Tuesday 5.30pm at the Progress Hall Torbanlea. Everyone welcome. Community support is desperately needed to ensure Coalfest 2021 is able to go ahead.. Interested community members, exhibitors, local business - we need you all to keep the dream alive!!!

13.01.2022 This week the committee held the first post-covid meeting to discuss Coalfest 2021. A suggestion has been made that the location of the festival moves from the main street of Howard and the oval to the recreation ground at Torbanlea. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts. We'd like to have a "you beaut, bonzer" festival in July 2021.

09.01.2022 Calling All Entertainers If you can sing, dance, juggle, tell a funny story or provide street entertainment then Coalfest is looking for you. Following on from previous successful competitions the Coalfest Committee is looking for expressions of interest for a Busking Competition to be held on Coalfest Saturday (July 18th). Buskers will be allocated times and locations around Howard and asked to busk for half an hour. Generous prizes will be offered and you get to keep any money you raise while busking. Interested? Instant Message the committee or contact the event coordinator [email protected]

07.01.2022 And the winner is...... Coalfest - Our Heritage Festival Jim and Julie Whyte accepting the Fraser Coast Regional Council Australia Day award for best community event on behalf of the Howard Community. This is the second time the festival has won the award (winning in 2013 and coming third at the State event). Great to see a small local festival run exclusively by volunteers taking out first place.

05.01.2022 A short explanation of why we celebrate Coalfest on the third weekend of July each year

04.01.2022 Behind every successful event is a hard working committee - and they need your help! Tuesday Feb 18th the committee will meet at the Progress Hall at Torbanlea at 5.30pm. Everyone is welcome. Come along and see what we are doing for Coalfest this year - perhaps you can lend a hand or have some great ideas to share. Help us to have a great event again this year. Feb 18 Progress Hall at Torbanlea 5.30 pm

04.01.2022 Local potter and artist Julie Whyte is preparing prizes for Coalfest. This year the many prizes awarded at Coalfest will be the iconic work of a talented local artist. A great memento of our heritage festival that will sit proudly on mantelpieces of the lucky winners.
