08.01.2022 Please read the important message below. Howard Police will be conducting patrols and compliance checks in relation to COVID-19 restrictions which includes hol...iday rentals. The Maryborough District Disaster Management Group wishes to remind all residences within the Fraser Coast Region of the important need to follow all instructions issued by the State and Commonwealth based on advice from Chief Health Officers regarding COVID-19 restrictions. These instructions are well known by all and they have been reinforced at every opportunity by the Prime Minister, Premier and Commissioner of Police. These instructions include all persons are to remain at home i.e. YOUR PRINCIPLE PLACE of residence and not at any other location unless you are attending work, shopping for food etc., medical appointments and to access essential services. Residents are permitted to leave their residence for exercise purposes and must exercise social distancing principles and numbers are restricted to no more than 2 people unless the family unit is more than 2 people. Currently residents are allowed to have 2 visitors at their residence at any one time with social distance principles applied. Social distancing whilst at home and in public (for essential reasons) is to be observed, persons are not permitted to socialise in public spaces in groups of more than 2 people, family unit excepted. People are not to linger in public areas, i.e. parks, beaches etc. unless for the purpose of exercising (with social distancing principles applied). The CLEAR message from Government and Police is that people are not to try and travel for holiday purposes this includes going to any holiday residence owned by residents and not to make any holiday accommodation available for rent as this has been identified as NON-ESSENTIAL travel. Police have taken and will take relevant enforcement action against persons who have ignored the instructions issued by the State, this enforcement action could cost someone a fine of $1300.00. For the most part the Government and Police are very happy and appreciate the good work by community residents in playing their part to help stop the spread of COVID-19 throughout the State. We ask that all community residents continue to abide by the instructions which are there for your safety. If residents have questions around COVID-19, I urge them to look at the Queensland Government web-site and call 13HEALTH.

06.01.2022 JUST ANNOUNCED Thanks to the amazing efforts from all of Queensland, this Friday (3 July) even more restrictions will lift, including: the return of commun...ity sport, including contact sport.
