25.01.2022 So who wants to help Anita out on the weekend? Put your hand up now!

23.01.2022 Just a reminder that we will be running on Christmas Day, we could still use a little bit of help. Scan a barcode, point someone in the right direction or press buttons on your phone. Let us know below what you can do.

23.01.2022 COMPLETELY USELESS RANDOM STAT For the first time, it's possible to complete five Saturday parkruns in the month of February! Particularly good news for the 129 parkrunners with the surname February

22.01.2022 We just need some Marshals now to help us out tomorrow! Can you help hand out the high 5's?

21.01.2022 Join us on Saturday 7 March 2020, the day before International Women's Day, in a celebration of female participation at parkruns all around the world Bring along a female friend, colleague or family member and walk, jog, run or volunteer together! Purple theme for those wanting to show their support!... Join the conversation on social media with the hashtag #IWDparkrun

20.01.2022 Still looking for someone to manage the Stopwatch and the Barcode Scanning? Is it you? Please comment below or email - [email protected]

17.01.2022 It’s Thursday which means only two more sleeps till parkrun day. This week we have a new(well new to BP) run director. Would you please give a virtual high 5 to Kelly Underwood. Still chasing a barcode scanner so if you like beeping noises coming from your phone and wondering at the magic of technology then we have the perfect role for you. See you Saturday

16.01.2022 Burswood Peninsula parkrun is STILL GOING AHEAD! :-) And we will continue to keep you all updated as often as we can. We want all of our parkrunners to be safe.

16.01.2022 This Saturday would be Burswood’s second Birthday. As you know we are still on our enforced break but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate. Here’s how: 1. Friday night bake yourself a nice cake 2. Saturday morning run 5km(any 5 will do) 3. Return home and eat the cake(or share with friends and family) 4. Post photos of your run/cake/celebration. ... Enjoy your #notparkrun and we will see you soon See more

16.01.2022 Hi all. Although the timing for recommencing parkruns in Australia is still TBC, we’re always on the look out for new Run Directors to help with events. If you’re interested in volunteering to be a Run Director or want to learn more about what is involved in being a Run Director, please get in touch

15.01.2022 Good News and Bad News people, approval has been granted for parkrun to recommence at Burswood, the bad news is it will still take a coupe of days to sort out the all important paperwork. So at this stage we expect to be Back on the 7th of November, if you’d like to volunteer for that day, comment below and we’ll find something fun for you to do

15.01.2022 What a Happy Christmas parkrun! #loveparkrun

14.01.2022 A fantastic turnout of just over 100 runners for our IWD parkrun down at Burswood Peninsula. A great way to start the Saturday.

14.01.2022 Unlike a US election parkrun happens on a Saturday and you get your result the same day. But like the election we need you! We still need a timekeeper and finish token person to ensure we get the results out. Let us know if you can help.

13.01.2022 Good afternoon everybody, there is still some work being done regarding the return of parkrun in WA this Saturday with an announcement due very soon. We can advise however that due to a Telethon related event at the stadium this weekend Burswood’s return will be delayed further. Watch this space for further updates

13.01.2022 Hello parkrunners! We are still in need of a couple of Marshals for the weekend. Please comment here or email [email protected] if you can help us out. Thank you

13.01.2022 Who can recognize this well worn piece of tape? Tell us where it is for a free run. Speaking of free, parkrun is free, welcoming and inclusive of all abilities. When we return this will be more important than ever as we reconnect to our community through our shared enjoyment of a run, walk & social gathering. As always we will need your help, as volunteers, as Run Directors, as participants and most importantly advocates for this great event and as the restart gets closer... we will putting out a few calls for that help. In the meantime, stay safe and enjoy your running #loveparkrun See more

12.01.2022 Don’t forget we are back tomorrow at 8am. We still need two volunteers, namely a timekeeper and a Finish Tokens person. As you can imagine these things are important. Please get in touch so we can have a successful first back event.

07.01.2022 Hi all, we are definitely on this morning at 8am. Don’t forget your barcode

06.01.2022 Get excited people, we are back on Saturday the 7th of November. At this point in time all volunteer jobs are wide open so if you’re not ready to start to run or walk again, come down and help, just let us know below what you can do. Don’t forget your barcode or your smile

06.01.2022 You may have heard the news that parkrun is on the way back, at this stage it looks like we will be able to re commence in WA on the 24th of October in line with the phase 5 restrictions. Final confirmation should come soon, but let’s have a little fun in the meantime: Comment below with ideas for a comeback playlist. No tune is too out there, just got to be comeback themed. I’ll start us off with New York Groove by Ace Frehley. Let’s go

04.01.2022 Results are done, thanks to everyone who attended today and big thanks to all our volunteers, David, Kylie, Peter, Soheyla, Ross, Lyndall and Karen we really appreciate you helping out. I had a quick chat to one of our parkrunners, Neil Barnett who had flown in from Brisbane last night and is flying back out at lunchtime today. Neil completed his 389th parkrun today and has now attended 288 different parkruns. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis I think about 18 months ago, h...e didn't want to make a fuss today but we think he is pretty awesome. Neil will be completing his 400th parkrun in Port Hedland in a few months. We also welcomed three first timers today - we hope you enjoyed yourselves. Just a note to everyone reading, if you are planning on attending parkrun in the next few weeks, please check the facebook page of the parkrun you are intending on going to as there maybe cancellations at some or all. Have a great weekend everyone :) Anita :)

03.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone, as you know parkrun is re starting tomorrow at many venues across Perth but not Burswood. I know plenty will be keen to head to a nearby parkrun to get their parkrun fix. As you do please be considerate of the volunteers who have worked hard to get us back to this point and please be mindful of potentially larger crowds. Whatever you do enjoy yourself and stay safe.

03.01.2022 If anyone fancies volunteering for parkrun day, I can testify that the tokens have been disinfected and are currently drying and the volunteer vests washed! (We've had two people email through that they can volunteer, but we'll take more please!) Edited to add: You are all tremendous people, and thank you so much! We're all pretty set. We'll happily adopt a few fast finishing parkrunners as extra barcode scanners - the parkrun Virtual Volunteer app makes that absurdly easy.

03.01.2022 COMPLETELY USELESS RANDOM STAT 4,440 parkrunners have birthdays on February 29 And if that wasn't random enough, there are four parkrunners named Leape and 51 Leapers!

03.01.2022 The event that only happens once every 28 years!!!

01.01.2022 Lately the Peninsula has been missing something: parkrun. We don’t yet know when we will be back but we are getting ready and we hope you are too. Stay tuned over the coming weeks as we announce new additions to the event team and even the return of some old faces. For now feel free to share your pictures of the course, you enjoying the course or wherever you’ve been running. #wishyouwerehere #loveparkrun

01.01.2022 Results are up from this morning’s run, a little wet but that didn’t stop the smiles. If you’d like to volunteer next week we still have some spots available. Have a great weekend
