24.01.2022 After initially being postponed in May the Burton Toyota KING of the BOX is back in 2014 as a one-day surfing & bodyboarding contest that will attract almost 10...0 competitors to the infamous wedging lefthanders of Box beach in Port Stephens. The Stand up surfing has two divisions: Open Men Trip to Bali for the winner Legends (12 invites only) The invitational section of the contest will feature prominent locals that have shown form at Boxy over the years and pays homage to the guys that first mastered the wedge. The Bodyboarding contest will also feature two divisions: Junior Men (U/18) Cadets (U/16) All Competitors are asked to meet at 7am at Box beach on Saturday and the bodyboard heats will be first up at 8am. Kane Brewer (Nelson Bay) & Tanner McDaniel (Hawaii) are two of the bodyboarders expected to do well and in the surfing division local brothers Chris & Luke Michalak will be pushed all the way by Merewether locals Jesse Adam & Jackson Baker The presentation for both genres will take place at the Port Stephens Country Club at 5.30pm. The event is proudly supported by Maitland and Port Stephens Toyota, Graffiti Surf Designs The House of Marley, Carve Eyewear, Adrenalin Surf Safe-Sack & Surfing NSW.
