25.01.2022 Burwood District Bowls Club will have the finals of both the Men's and Ladies Major Club Championships this Friday night (Covid Restrictions Permitting) with Jen Morley playing Jacqui Brown in the Ladies and Jeff Bolch playing Nick Hodgens in the Men's. Games will start at approximately 5:45-6pm. Along with that we will have the usual Friday night fun, with raffles, the members Draw ($200 this week) and dinner, which will be Apricot Chicken with Rice for $10 per serve. If you would like to attend you can message the club here and we will add your name to the list.

Highlighted by the introduction of our new perpetual Men’s and Ladies Singles Championship shield. After our previous shields were filled it was only appropriate to name the new shield in the honor of two members who’ve done a power of work both on and off green over the years, Michael and Beth Chittenden. We will have raffles for members and guests with prizes from Your Local Butcher, The Fruit Hut and Jacked Up Coffee. $5 per week, paid for the month up front, you don't have to be present to win. The warmer weather of the past week has been a great benefit and while no one in their right mind would want to depend on Melbournes weather, another 4-6 weeks of this puts us right on track for an October launch.

Also on this Friday is our usual Friday Acivities, raffles with prizes from The Fruit Box, Your Local Butcher and Jacked Up Coffee. 03.01.2022 BDBC has moved to Eastern Ranges Bowls this season and had a couple of teams competing in the Region's Pairs competitions. Mother/daughter combination Beth and Sue Chittenden advanced from the second Round to be playing under lights at Croydon on Monday Feb 1st in the Qtr Finals. Hoping to join them will be the Club's reigning Pairs champs Stevie Creek and Mike Hendry who advanced to the third Round with two tense wins out at Lilydale and now journey out to Berwick Monday night. Good bowling and the odd bit of fortune to all.
