03.01.2022 November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. We know that smoking tobacco is the biggest risk factor for lung cancer, but around 20% of people diagnosed have never... smoked. Other risk factors include exposure to asbestos, a family history of lung cancer or personal history of other lung diseases (eg lung fibrosis, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, emphysema) or HIV. The main symptoms of lung cancer are: A persistent cough or change in an ongoing cough Breathlessness Chest and/or shoulder pain Repeated bouts of pneumonia or bronchitis Coughing or spitting up blood Having these symptoms doesn't necessarily mean you have lung cancer. However, if you are concerned, we recommend seeing a doctor. In the meantime, you can learn more about lung cancer on our website: http://bit.ly/2BQdSX5
