24.01.2022 January was the last time we visited Hyams Beach during the terrible bushfire season. Then Covid Lockdown commenced and like our guests, we were unable to visit the Cottage until now as we are back to prepare for the return of our guests from next week. Hyams Beach and St George’s Basin is back open for business. An abundance of photos this post, as there’s too much beauty not to share. Today at Hyams Beach and then watching a sunset at the Basin at the end of our road.

22.01.2022 When you next stay at Bush & Bay Cottage, don’t forget to visit Erowal Bay Boat Ramp nearby for a amazing sunset. Meet the pelicans who come in for a feed as the fishing boats come in and throw them any fish offcuts after filleting then.

19.01.2022 As we all return to the 'new normal' the great news is that we can get about NSW for holidays, subject to following the other Covid19 restrictions in place. 19.01.2022 If you’ve been trying to book in for October, sorry but we are here most the month on a working bee. Having had the outside of the house professionally painted and floorboards inside sanded, we are busy painting the insides. It’s a home tradies mess here at the moment but will look great soon and we even gave the kitchen cupboards old white 70s style nobs a makeover.

14.01.2022 We are pleased to release a dozen or so photos of our new makeover at Bush & Bay Cottage, Jervis Bay including a full external house paint, floor sanding and a safety handle in the bathroom which we appreciate our guests telling us would be good. 11.01.2022 Another amazing day in heaven. The water is warm this winter and in 20 years at Jervis Bay we’ve never seen so many at Hyams Beach in July. Then an amazing sunset from the shores of Bream Beach only 1km from the Cottage. And did you know that Jervis Bay has regular bioluminescence shows in the water after dark. Unfortunately a smart phone doesn’t do these night shots justice.

11.01.2022 Bush & Bay Cottage is getting a makeover and reopens 9th August. We are sanding the kitchen, living room and corridor floors, and replacing some floorboards near the balcony door. The laundry is getting a new door, and a safety handle is being placed in the bath/shower. The whole outside is getting a complete paint over. We can’t wait to see the results and show it off to our fabulous guests when you return. More pictures to be posted.

10.01.2022 We’ve never seen surf ski boating at Hyams Beach before, but did today. We don’t recommend our guests try this.

07.01.2022 Help us choose the main colour to freshen up Bush and Bay Cottage. The windows will be vivid white as shown. Which shade, A (first photo) Moorland, B Spanish Olive or C Pale Tandral. Please comment with a letter.

04.01.2022 Wow! We have never viewed Bush & Bay Cottage from above but thanks to our departing guest Thays yesterday, she just happened to have a drone in her travel bag, and sent us these shots. If anyone needs convincing that the Cottage is not secluded, not near wildlife, and right next to a busy arterial road, please show them this shot.

01.01.2022 Merry XMAS and Happy New Year to all our existing and many new followers. It’s been a hard year firstly with the bush fires 12 Months ago, and then who would have thought a pandemic would hit. Great to see bookings are back in full swing and we are very busy until the end of January. Here’s some photos of the finished paint job inside in October.
