The annual Revealed - Aboriginal Arts Market and Exhibition was due to be held at the Fremantle Arts Centre this month but was cancelled due to... guidelines around public gatherings. Well, how exciting is this? The Revealed exhibition of art from new and emerging Aboriginal artists has gone online and you can purchase from the safety and comfort of your home. Kalgoorlie Boulder artists are represented in the catalogue, we even got the number 1 spot on the map! Please join us in celebrating and supporting, Edie Ulrich-Buodoon, Biddy Dimer, Milton Hansen and Carol Lundy Thompson who were able to enter this program with the support of Artgold and our committee member Monika Dvorak. 10.01.2022 A l’occasion de l’Année internationale des langues autochtones, l’ambassade d’Australie en France accueille à partir du 30 janvier 2019 l’exposition Ngala Wongg...a : Signification culturelle des langues aborigènes dans les Goldfields d’Australie-Occidentale. Ngala Wongga est une collaboration entre la photographe Martine Perret et la communauté aborigène de la région de Goldfields-Esperance, en Australie-Occidentale. Mêlant le paysage, le portrait et le multimédia, le travail de Martine Perret met en lumière le lien qui unit les Elders (Anciens) aborigènes à la terre, et souligne l'importance culturelle des langues menacées d'Australie. Environ 120 langues autochtones sont encore parlées en Australie. Près de 110 d’entre elles sont en danger grave ou critique d'extinction. Mais il y a encore de l'espoir : on enregistre une augmentation importante de l’usage d’une trentaine de langues menacées grâce à des programmes linguistiques. Tjungu Palya Arts artists and directors are seeking a dynamic duo to manage their art centre business and studio in the remote community of Nyapa...ri on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Lands in the far north-west corner of South Australia. Currently recruiting two positions; an Art Centre Manager and a Studio Manager, these individuals will need to have highly developed aesthetic skills and be motivated arts professionals. The Art Centre Manager role requires strong leadership and the ability to deliver on artistic and community driven projects with exceptional outcomes as directed by the Tjungu Palya Board. The Art Centre Manager will be able to inspire and lead a team of arts workers as well as manage national and international networks and relationships. Reporting to the Art Centre Manager the Studio Manager will work closely with artists and art workers to support their artistic and professional development and provide Art Centre administration support, studio management, social services support and project support as instructed by the Art Centre Manager. Both roles require excellent interpersonal skills, a capacity to work effectively across cultures, and a genuine commitment to Indigenous self-determination. Strong management and analytical skills are essential for ensuring effective operations of Tjungu Palya Aboriginal Corporation as well as a solid understanding of the fine art industry.
