25.01.2022 An update and good news for all past and future guests of Bush Experiences and Homestation Lodge, the property is off the market. Due to the recent occurrence of COVID we have come to the conclusion that the Lodge is just too good to get rid of, so we have decided to separate the 4wd tour part of the business now trading as High Country Scenic Tours and sell it off. This will enable us to then concentrate exclusively on providing accommodation, meals and activity support, o...ur web site www.bushexperiences.com.au is currently being updated to promote this. To assist us with this and to make guests experiences more comfortable, enjoyable and memorable we have been busy during the COVID lockdown, a large shed has been constructed which has a workshop, pot belly heater and plenty of room for those adventurous bodies who like to swag it. A outdoor camp kitchen has been constructed adjacent to our campfire area, this will house a bbq, camp oven cooking area and a unique combination pizza / roasting oven / fireplace. A stand alone off the grid solar, battery system with generator backup has been installed which has sorted our power supply, allowing the use of hair dryers, curling wands and those other necessary personal items !!! Now that the lockdown restrictions are finally being lifted it is time to think about getting away and what better place to unwind than with us in the High Country, you will not get a more isolated, picturesque, relaxing destination with direct access to a playground full of tracks, trails, rivers, and millions of acres of rugged mountain ranges. To facilitate our compliance with COVID-19 operating instructions the lodge is only available for single group bookings, this means you can get away with your family, friends, work mates etc. without mixing with others. The lodge and shed can accommodate up to 20+ however this will vary depending on restrictions. We would appreciate your help to get us up and going after nearly 12 mths of closure due to bushfires and then COVID-19 if you could like this post, share it with your friends, dirt bike / 4wd forums and clubs, work mates, business associates the more the better, spread the word that Bush Experiences’s Homestation Lodge is the ultimate getaway destination, come once and you will be back. Thanks and we look forward to your booking and seeing you in the Victorian High Country.

25.01.2022 Last minute change of plans due to track closures however we managed to adapt to ensure our SA boys still got to ride the High Country. The weather was perfect for our 3 day camp out and tracks were awesome ..... no dust, bit of mud. Support crew included our 4 x 4 refuel, lunch an recovery vehicle, 4 x 4 with bike trailer ( 2 spare bikes) tool boxs, spares and backup fuel, 4 x 4 with trailer ( swags, camp gear) and my trusty OKA 4 x 4 with camp trailer, food, equipment. What a way to ride the high country and camp out, evening fire although the evening bath wad a bit fresh.

23.01.2022 To all those who are enquiring about how we are travelling with the fires although we are in an area that has been determined an Emergency Region there are no major fires close and the winds are favourable. So we will just keep hoping that it stays this way and we get some rain because that is the only thing that is going to stop these fires. Thanks for your thoughts.

19.01.2022 The High Country can certainly turn it on, bright blue skies one minute then an absolute down pour the next, been a long time since I’ve experienced rain this heavy. Should make for good riding on the weekend. Have a tour to Craig’s Hut tomorrow hope the tracks haven’t been washed out.

19.01.2022 Bush Experiences would like to take this opportunity to thank all our friends and families and wish you all a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year. We look forward to seeing you back in the High Country in 2019.

16.01.2022 Hi all, well February is nearly gone the weather should start cooling down towards the end of March so it is time to think about dusting of the bike and blowing the cobwebs out of the exhaust. As previously posted we are looking at selling the lodge however this has not yet come to pass so it is business as usual, we are taking booking up until end of July. We have a 6 day Wonnangatta, Dargo, Harrietville camp out ride organised for end of March early April this should be fan...tastic. So if you would like to do something similar or have your own ride in mind give us a call. We have all the necessary support vehicles, trailers, refueling and camping gear to make your High Country ride an awesome, memorable reality. Plus we know the High Country tracks and trails like our back yard. Or if you just want a weekend away, stay at our lodge, ride the awesome tracks at our back door and be treated to comfortable accommodation, great meals, ride support / refuel / lunch and evening campfire then give me a call. Safe riding.... See more

16.01.2022 Hi all, hope you have a managed to survive the ongoing situation and maintain your sanity, it looks to be slowly improving. So just a heads up to where we are at, we have been effectively shut down since December firstly with the bushfires and then COVID ... so by the time we get up and going again nearly 12 mths. Most of our activities, meals, campfires are outside, we have added a large shed with heater for cooler / damper evenings and sleeping is 2 per room, social distanc...ing is not a problem and there is fresh air in abundance. We only take one booking at a time (single group). So if you are wanting to get away, isolate with your mates or family give us a call.Bring your bike, 4wd and whatever you like to drink and enjoy a weekend in the High Country. If you could spread / share and like this to your friends, groups, forums etc. We need all the bookings we can get up and going again, your help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, hope to see you soon. See more

14.01.2022 A couple of new updates at the lodge, creature comforts for our guests. Big shed with fantastic pot belly for cold wet nights and we are just testing out our hot tub.

08.01.2022 Nothing much on at the moment .... however the diving is good.

06.01.2022 Biggest yabbie I have cooked in a while...... should taste sooooo goooood.

03.01.2022 Hi to all lovers of the High Country, I thought I would give you all an update on the fires in our area and how it is effecting us. Although we are not bring directly effected by the fires, the area in our immediate vicinity is included in the proclaimed disaster region so therefore no access to state forest or parks at least until 31st Jan ( at the moment). So no tours, no riding, no hunting. Hopefully our hard working firies manage to get things under control before our are...a is impacted because that would mean closure for a much longer period ( in 2006 / 2007 we were locked out for all of 2007. I will keep you up to date as things progress. If you are looking at riding the High Country when the weather cools down and gets a bit moister keep us in mind we would love to see you and host your next ride. Cheers, keep safe. See more

03.01.2022 Here is a novel way to arrive in the High Country for a weeks dirt bike riding. An old school bus 12 seats, 12 bikes and gear ..... couldn't make it up the last hill at the lodge so parked it at the front gate.

02.01.2022 Typical High Country spring weather, sunny and warm one day .... snowing the next. Hopefully as restrictions are being lifted and travel is allowed we are going to be able to open up again. So start planning your post COVID getaways, after being locked down for so long it will be a relief to be able to breathe some fresh air, sit around a camp fire and taste a bit of freedom. Whether it be for a ride, a 4wd, a work getaway, a get together with mates / friends / family or no reason at all then we have you covered. Come visit at Homestation Lodge and experience the peace and quiet of the High Country, the fantastic views, evening campfires, great food and friendly hospitality. We look forward to seeing you soon.
